Home of the "swollows", staying 3 to 6 months - occupying water taps connecting with hosepipes to supply running water to caravans! Not really my scene, but very special. Run by ATKV. The hot-water swimming pools, ablusions and other facilities, are the best. And you pay for this high standard.
Does NOT deserve a single star. Utterly disgusting. Was moved. Twice. 1st unit was flooded with water. 2nd unit toilet was broken and tv did not work. Then we were mived into a unit only to be notified later that it was booked for other guests. 3rd unit, 3 taps leaked consistently. Linens had cigarette burns. NO cups plates or cutlery. Health department needs to do an inspection here. It's an absolute health hazard. DO NOT COME NEAR THIS PLACE .
Bad experience unhelpful staff. First gave me a chalet that you cant even get to entrance. Second chalet filthy smell no aircon. Dirty place. Aircon leaked on bed and personal belongings. Bathroom flooded with water. No tv. Cant sleep in this place Demanding back my full refund.
Bad service and rooms are in pathetic condition. Found hair on my pillow and dirty sheets. For the price you can get way better at other resorts. The place can be better maintained as it is a beautiful site.
What a disgusting experience. Wanted to cancel after inspecting 2 of the chalets. Borh had wet floors froma leak in toilet. Had to settle gor a third, as the rather unfriendly receptionist told me they can't refund me as I paid via debit card. The chalet I then settled for: Basin tap dripped whole night, bedding made me itch. The unit next door, a tap was running whole night, I told the staff about It, yet nothing was done. Never again . For the same price I could have been in a B&B .
Excellent camping grounds and lots of entertainment activities for children
The level of camping has dropped and the place are being neglect so its better to go with your own blankets and everything
Die Eiland Holiday Resort in Upington is a popular holiday resort. On the banks of the Orange River. With comfortable chalets, a sweming pool big grass lawns. The longest Palm Lane in the Southern hemisphere. At the moment it need to be excluded only for visitors as the community neglect that beautiful resort.
The place is outdated, needs serious renovation and also new exciting offers eg WiFi access, further-more, they need to update their reservation or booking system to easier and modern system.
The resort charges a so-called deposit of R200 that needs to be paid in cash. They promise that it will be paid back to you via EFT, I am still waiting after 6 monts
