We were usual customers at the BakersBin Garsfontein branch and always dealt with the manager, Lily. We would cringe every time Lily was not available and Tina would step in because she never had a helpful demeanour and liaising with her, always seemed difficult. The last time we interacted with these ladies, was when we needed our stock urgently, AS WE BARELY HAD STOCK TO LAST US THAT DAY. If we did not make an alternate plan, we would have had to close early until we got stock. We ordered the stock well in advance and the day delivery was expected Lily was not around. We constantly followed up with Tina from the morning to have her eventually tell us that delivery will only take place the next morning. This was extremely frustrating as we constantly expressed the urgency while following up with her multiple times that day. This really showed us her complete disregard for customer care as all delays was due to there Driver having a break down and then getting “stuck in traffic”. We would order stock weekly. My husband ended taking off with her as we did not expect her to tell us late afternoon that we would not be receiving the stock. We then had to juggle to make sure we got it from another supplier. The next morning Lily calls us to defend her incompetent unhelpful staff which we did not expect and then tells us TO TAKE OUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE and cuts the call on us when we relay the disgust in customer relations received from her and her staff. We requested the owners detail’s multiple times but were told that they are not allowed to give it out and that Werner, the owner, would contact us. To date the owner has not called to address the issue. As business owners, we were really appalled as we value every customer and go the extra mile to make sure that we provide a service of excellence.
Its a lovely store, however the staff adds very little value to your store. They are unfriendly and unwelcoming. It's like they all just glued to being behind the cash desk... they won't move to assist but rather use their hand signals to direct me...
I get what I need here but the markup price of bakersbin is heavy , sometimes it is worth it
Best biggest widest variety of baking ingredients, lovely range of pre-made fondant cake decorations ranging from baby showers to Disney themes and almost any color rose you like. Lots of baking accessories to choose from and affordable. Friendly staff always smiling and willing to help you find what you need and can give advice on many baked goods. Give this store a Mega 5 star rating. Go see!!!
I was really looking forward to going here because of the good reviews, but I was quite disappointed. There was no help offered and I had to find everything myself. I'm a regular baker, but I don't really decorate or do intricate icing, so I didn't know what I really needed. I figured everything out but I didn't know which piping bags to get for the tip that I chose. I approached a cashier and she basically ignored me. She eventually turned to me and just pointed when I asked about the bags. I went and figured it out myself and came back to pay. I asked if they accept cards and she just nodded. It was incredibly uncomfortable and doesn't make me want to return. I did get everything I needed, but it could have been far more pleasant. The men packing the shelves did greet and were friendly at least.
Good selection of baking goods, spices and general food stuffs. Staff are generally helpful. Pricing is fair. Great place if you want to stock up on pantry essentials.
If baking is your thing ...well this shop is definitely for you .. from chocolate chips to all sorts of cake pans of various shapes and sizes ....at very reasonable prices .
The girlfriend liked the place. Place looks like a proper baking shop, lots of quality products and ingredients to choose from. Plenty of decorative premade edible shapes and characters for muffins and cakes. Their rusk baking trays with cutters were the best price we could find.
Great products and great service! Good prices on all kinds of seeds. I bought some spice from them a while ago, put it into a glass jar, and threw away the packet. A month later, I wanted to get some more but couldn't remember what spice it was. So I took some left-over in my glass jar and tried to match it up with the spices on their shelves. I asked one of the employees to help, and pretty soon 3 of them came and all helped me find the correct one quite difficult since one can't open the new pack of spice to compare. They assisted me well and I was able to find the spice I was looking for again. By the way, it's the Steak and Chops spice. Well worth a try!
Best shopping experience in my area. Keep it up.
