Balloch farm cottage and camping

Don't know much about their accomodation. But running through the farm on the 2021 Skyrun I can say it is drop dead gorgeous. The scenery is otherworldly!Location: 5/5

We camped at Bulloch. The venue is rural but absolutely stunning. All facilities incl good hot showers are provided. The hosts went out of their in so many respects to assist us and to make our stay a special experience

Very beautiful location and good accommodation with everything that you will need at the cottage. However the roads in this area are generally not good and do not even attempt to travel with a sedan vehicle with low clearance. The hosts indicated that it should be fine to travel with a sedan but unfortunately we had bad weather on the day traveling to the farm unforeseen and there is a particular cattle grid on the road to the farm where my vehicle got stuck and damaged because of the clearance at this point. The hosts were however very helpful in organizing the vehicle to be towed. This incident spoiled the experience a bit. However, with the right vehicle and the right weather this a stunning place to visit.

Driving in I thought I was entering Jurassic Park. Need I say more. It definitely one of the most beautiful places I’ve had the privilege to stay in my tent I even rode my MTB on the sand roads So exclusive

This is an extra-ordinary place to camp. View and 4x4 driving opportunities in aboundence. Unfortunately, for the price I expected daily servicing of the bathroom and braai facilities, as well as enough water for everyday use camping and shower which wasn't available.Service: 3/5

So it was an absolute nightmare getting there... nowhere in the website does it say which route is the best route to take all routes were as the woman we were in contact with "sedan friendly". So after ending up going over lundeans nek pass and damaging my car extensively we asked the woman who we were in contact with and she simply said oh you shouldn't have followed your GPS. Then after being there for the weekend we get told that we need to pay an additional R2000 on top of the amount that was originally agreed upon because it was over a long weekend, which once again is nowhere on the website and was only disclosed to us after we had had our holiday. Will never return here. Scenery is amazing but the experience was ruined by the lack of information about the roads and the generally piss poor condition of all the roads surrounding the place. The experience was made even more sour after we were informed by email that we need to pay more.
