Geelkrans Baviaans/Patensie

What an awesome breakaway in a tranquil and beautiful place. Would recommend it to any one wanting to get away from it all. The owner is very friendly and goes out her way to make sure we are comfortable. The ablutions are also very clean. Would definitely come back again.

We had an amazing stay at Geelkrans, Laurika went above and beyond to accommodate us. The attention to detail is superb, from her welcoming cards to her clearly marked, clean, spacious and shady sites. Geelkrans is a great place to unwind while looking at the beautiful scenery. The grounds are kept very neat and clean. I would highly recommend Geelkrans.

We had a lovely relaxing time. The campsite is neat and tidy. Ablutions are clean and we had hot showers every night. The host is very friendly and go out of her way to ensure that her guests are comfortable. Beautiful scenery. I would highly recommended this campsite.

What a special place to go an unwind with the family. Plenty of space for the kids to run around and explore, great easy fishing.

I don't easily rate a five star but this gem deserves the honor. Just a hour and a half from Port Elizabeth Geelkrans in Patensie offers camping in tranquility next to the Gamtoos River. Just make sure to be prepared and have solar or gas fridge as this is off grid. The owners are excellent hosts and are always prepared to assist and the campsites are well kept. The ablution looks good and runs on solar for light and gas for hot water and are also well kept. A hike is also available but must be arranged with owners. When nature calls Geelkrans will definitely not disappoint.

Lovely, quiet space for a great rest. Naturally beautiful. No electricity which means no fridge/lights/hairdryers. No music allowed. No toiletpaper, hand wash, hand towels. Plan and pack accordingly. If you really want to get in touch with nature this is just the place. If your car isn't fully packed, you've definately forgotten something. Lovely river for swimming or canoeing. Bring board games or cards to entertain the kids if it's too cold too swim. Bring loads of blankets as it gets rather chilly at night. Would definately recommend it for a good rest.

Absolutely beautiful campsite. Very neat and tidy. Clean ablution block. The views are stunning and the extra little welcome pack is so special. The host is so friendly and accommodating. We will definitely return.

Awesome beautiful and tranquil!!!!! Lovely river and nature area.

Wonderful place. Great swimming spot and the campsite was clean and in perfect condition. We had loads of fun and enjoyed the open space and water tremendously. Also the campsite is located in the most isolated of places and it feels so peaceful as you dont hear cars or other people. Amazing.
