Wonderful hosts went out of their way to accommodate us at a late hour on short notice. The facilities were cleaner than most places we have seen and this was such a pleasure on a day we needed the warm shower. The venue is beautiful and I wish I had more time to ride mtb in the area. Thank you so much for being part of our special journey.
We overnighted at Welvanpas on the way to the Cape from Durban at the end of June. It was a long 10 hour drive and we were warmly welcomed by our host, Rita. Despite the overnight frost and Eskom load shedding our room was warm and cosy. The dinner was divine and the hospitality excellent. We will be back.Rooms: 5/5
We camped in our motorhome with PowerPoint. Enjoyed dinner & breakfast. Homely but superior, lounge with fire place, pool, Alpaca farm. Highly recommended. Pet friendly if arranged & on leashService: 4/5
This place was reasonably priced. Warning: to enjoy this place, you have to eat there. The rooms were clean, spacious and a welcome rest. Just a warning for caravanners although they advertise caravan camping and have a beautiful lawn, I would not attempt to get my caravan to the farm. Bush trailers is another story
Very peaceful and quiet in the middle of nature itself! Safety: Needless to say it is very safe no need to lockup anything! Walkability: If you enjoy walking this is great!
Gr8t quiet gem of a place. Lovely lawn and tall trees. In fact the lawn was so nice we sent a pic to a friend and they asked if we’re on a golf course ! Yummy food. Friendly service. Spotless ablutions.
To simply give this place five stars is to do it a grievous injustice. Five stars fly around so easily nowadays. After camping here for a night I say this place deserves to be in a class of its own. Let's start with the things people really want to know. The bathrooms are modern and clean. The dish washing room is modern and clean. The campsite is situated in an amazing space that feels like you have struck the perfect balance between modern amenities and that perfect tranquility we all search for. There is plenty of space to walk, climb and explore. There are sheep. Real, honest-to-goodness sheep, by the thousands. The scenery is just... You've got to see it. What really seals the deal for a city dweller like me is the fact that the sky at night is filled with stars. Millions of them. You know what? Just go see the place for yourself. Trust me, you won't regret it.
Great to be back again, for the third time. Thank you for the pasionate service towards guests and always creating a welcoming atmosphere throughout our stay. The accommodation is sparkling and everything is provided, easy accesable and 10/10 for the meals provided. A very big thank you to Johan and the rest of the staff for the outstanding service we received this time and also for our previous stays on Welvanpas.
We stayed in one of the double rooms which was clean and functional. Johan, the manager was friendly. The lounge dining area decor is so old, it's needs a serious update. There was the oddest red and black evening dinner table setting surrounded by faded pictures on the walls and mismatched 1970s lounge furniture. The R40 breakfast was dismal, I've had better from Wimpy.
What an amazing place. Quiet, peaceful, such a beautiful background of the Karoo mountains. Rita is an amazing host. I'll come back here again and again!Rooms: 5/5
