Absolutely DISAPPOINTING. We had a kitchen tea and the owner thought it was a good idea to double book the kitchen tea and a funeral. We were told that the 4 children should "keep quiet now, as the funeral is starting." We were outside and the children were at the designated play area. The owner disrespects her staff, admitting that she gets tired of "swearing at them" every week.The food was late, and the place was unorganized. The umbrella hit my sister in the head when it came OUT of its holder, as the holder was worn out. The owner blamed her staff. We had the worst experience and I can't believe how unprofessional and rude a host can be. I would not recommend staying over as it seems that it's an "all-in-one" venue. Hairsalon, private function venue, restaurant, guest house and people living on the premises - everyone, and everything in the same space. OH, and a small doggy cutie running around and we were warned not to pet him, as he bites children.
Stayed over for a wedding and did the photos. Hosts were very friendly and helpful in setting up and making changes. Feel welcomed and almost at home.Rooms: 5/5
Bankenveld double booked a funeral and a kitchen tea! The kitchen tea was moved to an outside gazebo approximately 50m. away from the service. This was arranged the DAY prior to the event. 5 Kids under supervision could not play as they were loud? Food was late and raw. The unprofessional manager had a lot to say about the incompetent staff, we didn't want to hear about how you would like to "klap" a staff member! The kiosk was unavailable due to funeral service. To reply to a patron sarcastically saying "shame" we had enough and left early. A review on FB got me blocked. Hard earned money wasted and a special day ruined.
Amazing! Loved every moment. From ABF at the bar with Lance, post partying dinner snacks with the hugest pleasure, which I have to say was the best toastie sarmie and chips, with Heinz tomato sauce. You had my heart! The morning view on the lawn is breathtaking with a beautiful breakfast just for me. Elsa and Lance thank you.Rooms: 5/5
We had a marvellous bridal shower there on Sunday past. Area breathtakingly beautiful. Peace and tranquility. Beautifully antique furniture and books inside. Very neat and clean. Rooms an absolute dream. Owners and all their staff wonderful, friendly and kind people. Food was great and this venue can be used from children parties to weddings, after funeral reception and many more. Worth your while to spend a day or weekend or holiday there. Love the place
We had my mums funeral here a couple of weeks ago. What a brilliant place, fantastic people, hearty food. Sending off a lived one is never easy. It is the hardest thing to do, but when you have a place like this that makes it special, memorable and so beautiful it leaves one speechless with an abundance of gratitude!
Our hosts were absolutely amazing, warm & friendly!! They made us feel at home. We were a large family group & no matter what our requests, they went out of their way to try to accommodate us!! Thank you so much for your warm hospitality! May you grow from strength to strength!
What a wonderful geust house! Elsa is a fantastic hostess that looked after us like her own. Beautifully appointed, I can see why it is such a popular venue for special events. I look forward to staying there again.

I go there as my hairdresser is there, Virginia is absolutely the best hairdresser & Brakenveld provides a beautiful setting, love the dogs and they make awesome cuppucino'sService: 5/5
