Food and service are nice.
The setting and scene was amazing. Starters was divine. However we waited 45 mins for mains then the wrong order was delivered. Waited another half hour for the correct order to be delivered. Strings we're still around the rolled beef and whilst taking this off to eat the meat rolled off the plate on to the table. The only waiter for the night having seen this offered us free dessert which we declined. Upon confirming our bill we noticed we were charged for 3 bottles of wine. Such a disappointment.
What a terrible experience. Walked into barrio with nothing but excitement and a hungry belly to fill. We walk into a empty restaurant with a few tables occupied at 8.55pm. Terrible service at the get go with no acknowledgement of guests by the staff. The server didnt introduce herself and just gave us the menu which was new to us. We ordered drinks but they were out of a few items. The starters.. the saving grace of this evening were amazing but took a while to get onto the table. We were hastily told to order main courses because the kitchen was about to close. We did so and asked if we should place in dessert orders as well. We were told that we can order that later on. The food got onto the table late again. Having food allergies the menu wasnt very descriptive of the ingredients in the shwarmaoverpriced. After we informed her of the allergy she said she was going to make it over and had offered us to take it home as a takeaway we agreed at this time it was almost closing time. We felt rushed which was unacceptable as we were celebrating a very special day. The beef casablanca was a total disaster. It came to the table with the twine still in the beef. It shows the level of professionalism of the chefs. The mashed potatoes were plain mashed potatoes without the basil pesto and the beef was cooked rare instead of medium. The icing on the cake or rather not was us trying to order dessert and we were told the kitchen was closed with our only option being ice cream with chocolate sauce Id go to milky lane if i wanted that or the malva pudding. We then decided to leave. Upon paying the bill we noticed that the incorrect shwarma was billed to us and a gratuity charge was included already. We waited for what seemed forever to get the bill. A very dissapointing experience which left rather much to be desired. Definately cross this out of your future dining endeavours.
Worst place ever bad service bad experience I highly don’t recommend this place as a tourist I was very excited to try this place out as I had heard good things about it.... so I get there with my better half around 8:45pm the website said they close at 10:00pm so we’re thinking it’s more then enough time to enjoy ourselves. So we get there and to our surprise the place is empty about three tables were seated one of them leaving as we were walking in so we’re just standing in the door way waiting for someone to acknowledge us but nothing just looks and head turns so we just started walking around when the server finally acknowledge us She said we could sit anywhere so we did she give us a menu and walked off without even introducing herself or welcoming us into the environment. So we decided on drinks and to our surprise they were either out of the drink or didn’t have all the ingredients to make the drink.... so we settled for whatever. We then decided to go fort with starters which being a frequent restaurantar I must say it took quite a while to get the starters. But at this moment we were beginning to get upset.... when the starters hit the table it look really good to our surprise at this point we ordered two starters but upon looking over it everything that was supposed to be on the plate was not there which was a disappointment bc it was so slow and they were out of all most everything..... now the starters had good flavor but the lamb on one of the starters was very and I mean very fatty which was a shame bc we could tell there was a nice dish in there somewhere now the pita that came with it was by far the highlight of the whole entire dining experience which it not a good thing... some of the best pita I ever had. Really good and I’m not a pita fan so after the starters where done we find ourselves waiting an enormous amount of time for how slow the place was I mean we were literally the only table there so the food finally comes out and my better half’s plate comes out first we immediately notice something off there were tomatoes in her dish which she is highly allergic to so we inform the server at this time. An she says but we already made it and we go but she can’t eat it can u guys make another one please. So she sets there with a face and offers us to this one home as a take away we said no she insisted bc they made it already and she would get a new one so I said I’ll take if your just going to throw it away so she comes back with my food it looks good hitting the table but I notice my plate was also missing what the menu had briefly described. Ok I said to my self but then I go to cut into my meat and notice the butchers string still tightly around the meat not appealing at all and the meat was the wrong temperature as well. Now I’m just over it and just want something sweet to see me off.... but to our surprise as we try and order desert the server tells us the kitchen is closed and we can not order anything but ice cream with sauce bc that all she her self knows how to make bc the kitchen staff had left the worst ever. Then long story short we get the bill and she changed us for the extra meal that they missed up and offered to us and she tipped herself on a to person check at this time I asked for the manager to our surprise again had already left. Horrible experience don’t go here at all save not only your money but most importantly your Time.
A night to forget.... Choosing Barrio as the resturant to celebrate my mum's 50th birthday, was probably the worst decision I have made to date. The waitress had no knowledge of the menu which made ordering almost impossible. Table etiquette from our waitress was definitely NOT on the menu as she constantly leaned over us to serve, bumping our heads and interrupting our meal. She got 4 out of 6 orders wrong and the meals were not even slightly appealing. Her ineptitude at serving was highlighted when she tried to place the meal at the table, she managed to spill food off the plates onto the table, at this point I was ready to walk out. Spending that sort of money I'd expect a high level of service. I would never return there again even if the food was free...
Food is good service is excellent
Amazing service throughout the night. Food was pretty good. The only part that was a little upsetting was the fly that I found floating in my glass of wine which was promptly taken care off, once I got the waiters attention.
Lovely place and food was delicious but the service was too slow.
