Die Breytenbach Galery, met sy houtvloer, hortjies-vensters, dik mure, hoë plafon en natuurlike lig, bied ’n outentieke uitstalruimte in die hartjie van die Boland, wat deurentyd uitmuntende Suid-Afrikaanse en internasionale kuns ten toon stel.

Anne-Ghrett Erasmus, skilder en digter wat gedebuteer het met Die lekkerste perske is ’n vy, en Ilse Schermers bestuur die galery en die aangrensende Kardoes Kuns winkel.

Neat bookshop and art gallery. New and used books well organized. Used books are in good shape. Low prices. Some art also for sale.
The bookshop has an excellent selection of diverse genres with a very knowledgeable and helpful lady in attendance who clearly is a most avid reader herself. I had to wait for my car being fixed and had a chicken/avo sandwich with crispy fries and the most delicious dill sauce imaginable at an almost unrealistically cheap price. You can sit in the cool old building, on the verandah in front or in the leafy garden at the back. The place has poetry everywhere, an exhibition in the little art gallery and will resonate with you if you love words and beautiful spaces. For foreigners it could be an experience of an authentic current Afrikaans aesthetic and culture, which I absolutely love!
Beautifully set in the heart of historic Wellington. Die Bordienghuis is a gem a jewel for the performing arts. Its intimate rustic with an air of sophistication. Great for one person shows or acoustic musicians. I had a blast thanks to warm audience along with the exceptional staff & proprietors.
A real gem in a beautiful building - the home that Breyton Beytenbach grew up in. Always wonderful exhibitions and a wonderful shop, perfect for finding a special gift. The beautiful garden is a treat. Highly recommended.

Great little bookshop, with lots to choose from for all interests and ages.
The book club that is co-ordinated by Gerhardt van Aard, is an experience on its own, where you get to meet the Authors. And the shows at the Borgendhuis theatre is next level. A true theatrical experience. Also a great coffee shop during the day and pizza and wine available at the shows.
The curator always has time for a knowledgeable chat about the art on show. Recommend a visit to the gallery and bookshop. Also the little coffee shop. Relax and enjoy.
