The staff were super helpful especially Ruchin. They took the time to find an old part for me and even help with the installation. Would highly recommend this store as there a few like them around anymore!
I had been struggling to find a 24" bicycle for my daughter. I found many options at Bridge Cycles. They even went to fetch three additional bikes from their warehouse. They lubricated the bike which took some time. The shop is very busy so take that into consideration.
Great Bike shop. I ordered online and got my order within 3 working days. Even though I am in Cape Town and the store in Durban, communication and customer service was always quick and excellent.
I had read a negative review by Chad for this shop, and was reluctant to venture into the store, because he had painted it as one of many stores in South Africa, where the staff treat you as if they're doing you a favour by taking your money. I decided to ask a knowledgeable friend for his opinion, and he had nothing but praise. I gave them a visit. What was immediately apparent was that it was a popular bike shop. I had to park down the road, that's how busy they were. The shop was unbelievably well stocked. Not only was every tool and component imaginable available, they had multiple brands, which made comparing value for money super easy. I am the kind of shopper who likes to be left alone to browse and then ask for help when needed especially on technical purchases. I was approached within a minute of entering the store by a staff member who offered assistance, which I declined so that I could first browse. After about 20mins of checking things out and asking staff for prices on some of the more technical items, I was ready to finish up. A lady assisted me by answering all my rookie questions, and by even going through multiple boxes to find a small cheap tool that I needed. She set me up with all the must-have gear, and was so friendly while doing it. Chad must have visited the store at an inopportune moment like at closing time, or just before 12 on Friday, because there is absolutely NO way that the people who helped me are the same people who helped Chad, unless something else was up. Irrespective of Chad's review, I'm stoked that I have a brilliant bike store just around the corner.
I would recommend this store any day of the week to experienced or beginner bicycle owners. Their prices are not pathetic like stores in or closer to the city or Cape Town and the Southern suburbs. The staff are knowledgeable and very patient and helpful. I purchased a bike, wasn't comfortable with the size and it was exchanged with not a problem at all. Super business and fantastic service.
Excellent service received from Bridge Cycles. Their helpful, friendly and knowledgable staff have ensured that I will be using them again in the future. Pricing was good and I trust Bridge Cycles with correctly diagnosing the problem on my bike. Well done and keep up the good work.
Store seems proffesional and knowledge about bicycles appears to be on point! Purchased a bike on display for a good price considering the name. Owner was involved and added value on the sale, they are pretty set on there prices however, didnt give the impression it was open for negotiation when I purchased my bike. Also, even though not all bikes come freshly unpacked, the quality is still impressive. So to summarise a great shop with good quality bikes, good product knowledge.
I came into Bridge Cycle’s for assistance. Cycled my new bike to the shop and was ready to get myself kitted out. All the blogging sites and research that I did always boiled down to getting yourself acquainted with your local bike shop because the people there can seriously help, guide and advise you with what’s needed with your bike to perform well on the trails. I went into Bridge Cycles in the first week of July 2020 with expectations to speak to an enthusiastic sales person who can guide me and assist with my chain that needed to be looked at before I went on a Jonkershoek adventure. Well, that expectation was immediately shot out of my mind when I walked into the shop. Bridge Cycles had one customer inside. The customer was already being helped by a sales representative. I stood in the shop, waiting and smiling… ready to engage with someone. But nobody seemed interested in approaching me, until a lady May be more senior asked one of the guys to come see if I needed assistance – fairly obvious as I am standing around with my bike. The guy begrudgingly came to assist me, but it was more of an effort to get me out of the store. I asked for help with my chain, his response was: When do you need help? NOW. Because I cannot help you. I asked if I could book my bike in, then. So someone can help me. And he said the he will need to see, when there is availability but definitely he cannot help me now. Honestly trying very hard to get me out of the shop. I asked for a chain link that would fit for my bike, he sold me the wrong one and I left with it. Since then I have been to Specialized Freewheel Cycology and they have been so amazing on each visit. They my local bike shop now and I have done so much business with them, bought my Helmet R2200, Shoes R3000 and Cleats – my shopping for kit has not stopped, but it amazes me that Bridge Cycles in tough times are not interested in customer retention or assisting the new guy. It is a real let down, because word of mouth is a very very bad/good tool for business, depending on how you run your ship. I have had multiple people complain to me about the same issues they found at Bridge Cycles. including my father when he made inquiries in May
Regular customer. Staff are generally very helpful, product range pretty darn thorough both road and MTB and prices highly reasonable, even in comparison to online shops sealant, lubes, clothing come to mind. They've gone out of their way to source me parts for my none-too-common bike, communicating promptly and with follow-ups via both phone and email.
Awesome place...been going there for years. Kurt and Boeta Moosa are top notch guys.. keep it up.
