I am going to start off by saying the electrician Owen Majura and his co-worker that did the repairs, get 5 stars. They are both perfectionists at their job. Excellent. 2 Starts for Bugs and Sparks. Callie, the inspector who created the quote, added things to my quote which has nothing to do with electrical work - especially my COC. My quote to get my COC started off at */-R18k and ended after I questioned and removed items took a week and a half to do this at R6,590. Callie the inspector I think is there to make money for B&S - such as fitting my roof standing aircons on bracketsR2000+ against the wall for COC or a changeover switch for a UPS which is uninterrupted . UPS' don't need a changeover switch and Owen couldn't understand why it was there. Also he said aircon brackets has got nothing to do with them. I just bought the house 4 months ago. Installed new aircons x3. got bugs and sparks to do the supplementary COC. when the inspector Callie came, he found every fault R5,600 with my inverter system. I bought the house with it, bugs and sparks did the coc. He sent me a quote to pay for the items, I said no ways, it was supposed to be done when I bought the house. 1 week later after receiving the quote, B&S put the items up as no charge - thank you. Quick and easy call out. Quote turnaround quick 48 hours. Amendment and removal of unnecessary items, non COC items and questioning inverter - 1 week. Installation 9am-5pm. Owen and his team where super friendly, professional, perfectionists at there job. Anyways read your quote, question the items. When the electrician comes on the day of repairs or installation. Talk to him about the quote, go through the items. Request Owen Majuru if you want a proper job. See pictures for his neat and tidy work.
Poor backup support following an electrical COC job Bugs and Sparks did for our new house purchase that left one light circuit non-functional because a connection in the neutral line was left disconnected. We requested they return and fix the incomplete job and they informed us to check the light bulbs and that it was not their responsibility.
Hi All Bugs and Sparks are very professional in their approach and are quite thorough with the electric, plumbing and beetle certificates. The only improvement that I would note, is to confirm appointment dates faster. Aside from that - the people were friendly and efficient - Well Done Bugs and Sparks.
So, I needed a COC for selling a flat in a complex. First floor. Original inspection was done when we purchased 3 year ago. Some things were repaired and I contacted a few companies. Bugs and Sparks were quick to respond, friendly and on time in their inspection. All good, up to here. Took two days to hear what the results were. Cool, paid my R880, needed water and electrical COC. As soon as I paid, they hit me with a R4000 estimate to fix. Example, DB board incorrectly labeled, Geyser 20amp circuit needed replacing, geyser had no stop tap etc............Light fixture needed replacing, my bad, I broke a tab replacing the bulb. Queried the qoute, lady said something about regulations etc. Failed to respond. Got out Comany B ,little bit more expensive. Did the same without telling them I had the qoute from Bugs and Sparks. Anyway, two things to fix, light fixture and stove plug. Stove plug not picked up by Bugs and Sparks. I gave the go ahead. Only after I showed the repair team from Company B, my Bugs and Sparks qoute, guess what, they tested my Amp switch, nothing wrong. Double checked the labeling of db board, all is correct. Stop tap for geyser, guess what, installed, already there and working flawlessly. I know times are tough, but these guys are really attempting to take people for a ride. Ended up paying Company B R3000, instead of the R4000 excluding the R880 already paid to Bugs and Sparks that found these range of faults. All checked afterwards and found to be correct. Then when queries happen, people tells me regulation this and that changed, guess what, it didn't. Oh well, service was prompt and quick, but that is where it ends.
