Thank you for great and friendly service. Thank you for the card we received from you for our anniversary. I had the mussels with creamy garlic sauce. Fantastic!! My rolled beef with escargot was perfect. I eat my steaks well done and this was just right, still tasty and not dry. Thank you, will be back and recommend you to anyoneFood: 4/5
Delicious food, great service, wonderful experience! I will definitely be back. I came here with my family last night, and we really enjoyed it. I also enjoyed that there were quite a lot of people, so the vibe was good. The only negative is that the benches at the table we were sitting, were quite worn out, which made the seating a bit uncomfortable. I remember noticing this a few months ago at this restaurant as well. I just think replacing the benches would make the experience even better, even though it was already great. Thank you for the lovely evening!
This is a really great restaurant with the best quality food and high level of service. Wether it is with the family or date night. Cattle Baron is a great place to sit down and enjoy a meal. We especially enjoyed the vegetable sides that come with the meals. Not to mention the prawns.
Service was excellent. In my opinion, this is the best value vs quality, I had for a long time. George was our service person and was very knowledgeable. The food was excellent all-round till by the dessert. The big plus for us is that we were able to bring our own selection of wine, making celebrating a birthday a little more economical. Our selection of food included T-Bone med/rare , Pork Belly, Fillet steaks med/well. Served with Blue cheese sauce, onion rings, creamed spinach and butternut. My compliments for the beautiful onion rings which was nice and big and not to oily. My compliments to the chef/s. Oh, I need to mention that we had starters for four, a mixed platter of chicken wings, calamari and mushrooms. Service was quick and we did not need to wait for food. Definitely be back soon. Well done.

Worst Cattle Barron in my opinion and I've been to quite a few. Service is slow although the waiter really tried. We were told that our food would take 30 minutes as the kitchen was busy with another big order. Made absolutely no sense. Food wasn't even that good. Tasteless burgers, heavily overcooked pork belly that was very tough to chew. We actually went for the buffet but found that there was no Sunday lunch buffet on offer. To top it all off, never once did the manger come check up or even greet when we left. Such a letdown for such a well established brand. Me and my family will never go back there.
We decided to go to the Durbanville Cattle Baron on Saturday evening. Reception was not welcoming at all and rather surly. Eventually after getting a nice seat we had to ask to be moved out of a tiny corner, we were able to order. Our waiter was nice enough and tried really hard. The food was disappointing to say the least. The starters were underwhelming. The Calamari tubes were swimming in butter and too much lemon. When it came to the main course, the steak was lukewarm and sauce was cold; everything was served on a cold plate. It was like they had waited for the chips to be cooked and let everything else get cold. The chips were not properly cooked either. The dessert was nice, but they insisted on serving it with fake cream and cheap ice cream. The secret house blend coffee was heavily roasted and rather nondescript. Really not worth it. We will not be going back there.
My daughter and myself treated ourselves to a wonderful time at Cattle Baron once again. Service were excellent. Karen welcomed us at the entrance with a huge smile, and of course Herman's steaks were TOPS. He made me a hot habanero sauce, as I mentioned that I miss a sauce like that on the menu. There simply just aren't a better steak restaurant ever! Thanks Herman for giving us just that.
Our Waitress Faith was amazing. The chef on shift that evening was so friendly...came to our table to get my specifications on the Sirloin on the Bone I ordered. Unfortunately I specifically said no basting on my steak but I came with basting...I wasn't happy about that. My partner REALLY wanted Beef Ribs but they were not available, then his second choice - Pork Belly was also not available. He settled for the Rib and Wings combo and he really enjoyed it. Everything else was good. Thank You
