Cesco's Paulshof

We heard about them on Jacaranda... But was quite a disappointment. The menu is interesting, being half Portuguese, half German, nice enough variety. We even got excited that food was coming out quite fast... But the mushroom starter, was small, and the mushrooms were watery and fried a bit darker than ideal. Service got slower, having to flag down waiters to get a drink refill, and when it came to orders and paying. The main, chicken cordon bleu, was awful. All 4 our dishes' chicken was still raw inside, cheese only partly melted in some. We called the manager and our plates were sent back to simply be rewarmed. We stuck it out for dessert, which was overall pleasant enough, reasonably priced, but the cream on the Italian kisses tasted sour. As it was already so noisy - the live entertainment wasn't really adding to the experience, was more distracting than entertaining - and it was a special occasion for an elder in our group, we didn't want to make a big fuss. But we don't intend to come back anytime soon.

As far as the Portuguese food goes, it's just okay. I love that they have milho Frito and that's it. I will eat there again and either try simpler things or the German menu.

This is a great spot for excellent food in a friendly environment. The terrace has a view overlooking green suburban trees. Roy and Carol are hands on and the service is fantastic!

The food was well below par, normally I'd complain but I was a guest and didn't want to make a scene. The prawns definitely didn't look fresh, the sardines were almost biltong, the schnitzel was dry and overcooked, the chips were cold and fried in old oil and the cappuccinos tasted like bleach. The waitress was however very pleasant when she decided to pop around to our table.

Great place to go with family and friends, friendly and efficient. Good food for all tastes.

I had fish and chips, the batter wasn't crispy as one would expect from fried fish, salad was fresh and chips good, staff really friendly.

Great for both German and Portuguese food, and the facility is part of the German country club which has paddle and tennis.Food: 5/5
