I bought my mountain bike from Cycle Lab Fourways, it was a fantastic experience! The team at the store helped me arrange finance, and gave me great advice! The bike setup offered was nothing short of amazing and I walked away a really happy customer. Thanks to the team for all the help, advice and walking me through my purchase.
This has to be the premiere resource for anything cycling. The place is just awe inspiring. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The facilities are impeccable. The variety of stock is incredible. They really thought of everything. I went in on a Sunday with a bit of an emergency. My wife's wheelchair had a puncture the night before. They were extremely helpful even though this was not their speciality. They took me to their workshop called "The Lab", which was clean and well fitted out. They had me sorted in minutes, and refused to charge me anything. Even after I insisted to pay. They're really great people and gave me some handy advice. I will be buying all our wear and tear replacements here in the future.
So so disappointing We have been using Cycle Lab Fourways for as long as I can remember because of the excellent service on the floor and at the workshop Arrived today to buy a few things to find not only a dirty shop floor but also no one around to assist with purchasing mountain bike shoes. Eventually after a long wait a salesperson came along apologizing that this is not his section as he is a fitter in the workshop He tried to help but was more interested in going to chat to another salesman than to give us the attention we deserved After finding leg warmers and Italian cycling shorts we went to pay I echoed my sentiments to the guy at the door who apologized So so disappointing I will have to come back on Wednesday to collect my bike that was transported from N1 cycle lab in Cape Town Today was like walking into a supermarket and not like times before when I received attention from the salesmen Very very sad
Probably the best customer service I've had anywhere period, these guys know what it means to go above and beyond. Won't be supporting anyone else. Highly recommend dealing with Ryan
I bought these 2 x gym towels when I was a member at CL around 1997. I have used them consistently over the last 25 years on my trainers, gym and spin sessions and they are still my favourite towels! Soft and absorbent cotton, not this new microfibre k*k. They seem to be industructible. Just bloody brilliant!
A couple months ago I took my bike in to have the entire cable system replaced after breaking my gears on a fall. They took my bike in and did the change, however I couldn't change to 3rd gear in the front after that 3x8. I rode like that for a while and then eventually took it to a smaller shop to get it fixed, however they made it worse. So I took it back to CycleLabs today and when I spoke to a service advisor he told me they don't work on bikes of this "quality", and I'd have to take it somewhere else. When I tried to explain that they had caused the issue, he spoke over me and told me to go to Cajees. I wasn't even looking for them to repair it for free, I was willing to pay full price for a new chain system, and I was also going to buy a bike for my fiancee and a new bike rack. Guess Cajees is getting that business now.
I took my road bike for a major service about a month ago, while on a ride and changing gears I noticed when changing from top gear to low gear, the chain wasn't going in flush and therefore when paddling it was slipping. I took the bike back to Cycle Lab and the team said now the crankset is whop and I needed to replace it, until then the bike will continue to miss when changing gears. I took the bike to a smaller shop, the gentleman over there said they were taking nonsense, did a minor adjustment on the front derailleur and the problem was fixed. I have done 3 rides now and not once has it missed. You would think a big company like Cycle Lab wouldn't try to pull a fast one over you, but I was wrong. I am not sure how to reply to your comment, but what details do you need from me?
New bicycle taken in for first service. Received back with old stretched chain. This is confirmed by another bicycle shop. Tried to get client service without success.
Took bike in for diagnostics. Nothing was attended to. Taking my business to small family owned repair bike shops, they are small enough to care.
I have traditionally had pretty good service from Cycle Lab – small niggles – but no one is perfect. However, this past week, using their online service – for the first time –basically because I did not want to travel twice; to order and then collect and secondly because Cycle Lab had a first-time online voucher that they offered me. The online experience was nothing short of disastrous. It simply did not work. After raising a ticket and more than 10 emails later. The transaction had to be pushed through manually on their side, no discount vouchers in the end and a significant waste of a couple of hours. It would have been significantly less expensive driving in. I am still non-the-wiser after a few less than useful excuses. Stay away from Cycle Lab online. Useless. Customer service under the circumstances – Disappointing Barr the fact that I already had purchased a voucher - I would have walked away from this transaction and unlikely that they would easily have seen me again.
