Dr. Alter was very detailed oriented and made sure I was always comfortable during my procedures. His recommendations were very helpful; and the final result was great. Will definitely visit him again once I’m in Johannesburg for additional procedures.

Saw Dr Alter long ago but kept in mind to review when I had the time. I had a bad experience with another dentist who replaced my filling too high so that it caused pain. After he filed the filling down it was still too high and when i told him all he wanted to do was a root canal or pull the tooth. Dr Alter insisted the filling was still too high and filed it down for a 3rd time and there was no more pain. He was gentle where he other dentist was not. Dr Alter tried the simple route first. Full of experience, i felt safe like he was genuinely interested in helping me. I loved him.

Dr Alter is competent and patient. He takes time to explain your dental issues in a way even a layman can understand. The doctor will tell you if you do not need to come back for regular checkups - I only need to see him again in two years. I had a wonderful experience.

I had Root Canal Surgery on my one Molar yesterday, after having broken off a third of my tooth. Dr Alter explained the procedure carefully to me before he started. The anaesthetising of the tooth was done painlessly and carefully. He used a "Dental dam" to isolate the tooth from the rest of my mouth, which stops all the sprays of water etc from entering my mouth. I could breathe perfectly with it on, and I wish more dentists would learn how to use it. The procedure took approximately 2 hours to do, and I never was in pain or uncomfortable. He suggested I take something for the pain, as it could possibly be sore for 3 to 5 days post surgery. Also, I would like to add that the staff at the front desk / reception area are extremely helpful, courteous and kind to their clients. Thank you. Colleen de Villiers. 16th Nov 2022.

My 4 year old son went in for his first dental procedure to Dr Alter. The experience was first class from the time you enter till you leave. I have already referred him to many of my friends and family.

Superb, smooth service. Didn't feel a thing. Dr Alter saved my barely savable tooth. A true master of his craft with the x-rays to prove it. He clearly explains exactly what he is doing and the reasons for doing it. This allowed me to feel apart of the Dr's process during 3 appointments and not like a helpless victim at the mercy of a butcher. It also helps to gage the success or efficacy of the procedure rather than being in the dark and not even knowing what to measure against. I appreciate the SMS notifications with reminders of the appointments and flexible, accomodating attitude towards appointments too. Staff are all super friendly. He even kindly reduced my bill for no other reason than kindness, I presume. So ironic that it was the one rare time I was prepared to pay more than I bargained for. So happy I was referred to him by my wonderful dentist for his surgical expertise.

As someone who has the worst phobia of all things dental and dentists, I plucked up courage to visit a dentist after many years. Thank heavens it was Dr Alter. Seriously. We found Dr Avron Alter to be an outstanding dentist. Our young daughter unexpectedly needed quite extensive treatment and he was truly a pleasure to deal with in every way. We found him to be thoroughly professional and very caring and competent.
