On a cold winter morning...sit down. No atmosphere, no music, no heaters, aircon not working. Breakfast was served cold, then heated with eggs microwaved to a top hardened state. Waitress serving tall one is carrying food plates in each hand, swinging it as she walks, me thinking food is going to drop on the floor any second, thumbs pressing into the plate's food serving area. Waitress asking: "is everything is fine" short one, walks away mid-sentence not wanting to hear negative feedback and/or suggestions for improvement. Management only appearing to take payment, with a reaction to a complaint : "I'm sorry". Different strokes for different folks, personally I won't visit again... June 2023

No chicken strips available. Ordered pie and gravy. Presentation and taste was far below their usual standard. Was always our restaurant of choice when visiting Pretoria but no longer an option
Best Cheese cake you will ever taste in your life. I enjoyed the vibe with friends and Pretty the waitress was a champ.
Der Zucker Backer came highly recommended by friends and family. Service was great and our waitress was friendly and efficient. Both the inside of the bakery and the seating area are clean and neat. Our breakfast was delicious, however the toast with the Eggs Benedict was incredibly tough, making it almost impossible to eat with a knife and fork. I had a vanilla latte and it was delicious!! After breakfast we took a stroll through the bakery, and everything looked delicious!! We will definitely be back for some baked goodies! Follow @heloisetravels for more reviews and photos.

Visit Der Zucker Backer for the best Bienenstich ever. Also known as "Bee Sting"... a cake base with decadent custard filling topped with baked almonds and honey. Enjoy at the restaurant or order yours for for a party. It comes in three sizes, a loaf and a small and large round cake. They will also cut it for you on request.
Order a cafe latte and chai latte with two shots of espresso but the espresso tasted like strong diluted coffee and the latte milk also tasted diluted, the waiter didn’t help the situation as we were trying to order she was speaking over us as if we don’t know what we want. The food has great presentation but the taste was lacking, overly salted chips, bacon over cooked, croissant is more bread than pastry. If I was the owner I’d ask the bad reviewers what to do to better the experience.
Staff are friendly and food is good. However I have been there twice and co incidentally both times there has been a phone grab. Today the young lady was so stressed and in tears. There are measures that can be put in place to safeguard the customers. The outside tables are very exposed to an open roadway. Customers physical safety has not been addressed since the last incident. This is not acceptable
