Old Town Italy - Menlyn Maine

Restaurant took an hour and a half for basic meals, 3 pastas and a pizza. The pizza and 1 pasta were ice cold. Meals arrived 5 minutes apart. Waitress checked on the table exactly once. R189 for their bolognese portion smaller than the size of your hand. Kitchen mixed spaghetti into penne dish, and put chicken into a vegan dish. Multiple tables had issues with waiting and orders.

Exceptional friendly fast service. Busy restaurant, reservation is needed. Pasta tasty and definitely worth it! Would recommend.

Our first time in the "new" Old Town Italy at Menlyn Maine and I'm disappointed. Not the same atmosphere either. We've ordered what we always ordered but it wasn't the same anymore. The pizza had these amazing fluffy bases, almost sticky. Now it was just a flat thin base that was burnt. The gnocchi was tasty but the portion didn't jusyify the price at all. I can't complain about our waitress but the food isn't what it wass. The food is a bit more pricey at Old Town, which was ok because I got everything I needed. But now it's almost not worth it to go.

We went there an hour before the kitchen closed on a Saturday. We ordered pasta and pizza. The service was pretty rushed due to the times. The music next door was pretty loud. But the food, yoh the pizza was amazing. The base is of the pizza is the highlight. The pasta can't remember the name but it had pesto was a bit small but damn it was incredible. We didn't get our dessert even though we ordered it with our food to avoid the kitchen issue. When we asked the waitress to bring us the pre ordered dessert she said the lady who does the tiramisu has already left for the day. I think she forgot to order it and only realised after the kitchen had closed that she didn't place the order, I forgive her though. Looking forward to my next visit. PS: please consider serving Banting meals.

Hoping to enjoy a good Italian meal from a place we had been before was really disappointed. Lack of drinks that were on the menu. Received food with a meal substituted with pasta we were not informed of. Dish portion of one of the meals looked a starter portion. If you looking to have a good italian at these prices... Try café de Sol rather

Called manager to table to complain about cold food. Manager has an rude attatude after feeling the plate is warm. Told him the plate might be hot but the pasta is cold and the mushrooms in the pasta still half frozen. We ordered a starter that never arrived. After his bad attitude I left. Asked for owners number but he refused to give it. First and last time they will see me. If you served frozen or precooked food make sure its at least warm when serving it to the customer !!!!!

Absolutely fantastic atmosphere! The live performance was of a standard that most people would be willing to pay for at theatres. We started with a selection of cheeses that was first class, mains will delight your taste buds Deserts are sensational, but my favourite was the selections of Galato Ice Cream. A refreshing and joyful experience. Thanks guys.

I came back after having an incredible experience the first time. This time, however, was disappointing. The atmosphere where we were sitting felt like I was sitting in a sterile kitchen as opposed to a cosy Italian restaurant. The lighting was a harsh white which didn't help either. The food was...okay. if anything, it tasted like it used to taste good and sat for 4 hours. I wish them all the best but won't be returning.

Always a nice relaxing atmosphere with delicious food. The staff is friendly with fast service, and the place is always neat and cleanFood: 4/5

Had a good dinner with family. Dinner tasted delicious and pasta was homemade. Issues were the loud music which makes you try to talk over each other when having a meal with your family and the waiters were slow to give a seat which meant there were very little waiters during peak times which is Friday nights and weekends. I would overall recommend this restaurant if a person is into Italian cuisine
