This team and their setup is just brilliant. Gobsmacked at the results in my pup, who broke her hind leg, wouldn't even put it down post cast - 3 sessions of hydrotherapy, sonar and infared and she is already using the leg and getting past her waterphobia at the same time - Big Win all round!!!
Wonderful hydrotherapy centre where all specialists are caring and really good at what they do.
I love the place, the people, the environment, the love and caring that excists, I have been taking my Mouse and Buster for a long time. I recommend that you try them, you won't be sorry, any back, or bone injury, current or existing. Guaranteed you will bring a happy tail home. You guys are awesome, from Alison right up to every member in the team. Bless you for all your hard work.
An awesome experience for us and for our Cane Corso. Friendly service and valuable recommendations on therapy. So much care for our baby. Thank you!
They took extra special care of our boy after his stroke. Always making sure he is comfortable. Even rigged a special contraption in order to assist him. The care was exceptional.
I left my child Doggy in the care of Alison this weekend 9-10 Nov... she assured me he will be well taken care of .... he had a Ex Fixator fitted for torn ligaments etc...... when I dropped him he was walking perfect and not bleeding... his wounds were clean I collected him this morning he could not walk on his leg, his wounds had not been cleaned and his little leg was swollen badly.... I had to rush him to the vet to get medication and to clean.... I do not recommend you leave your animal in the care of this lady
Doggy Paddle was the BEST.. used to take my Doggie Dolly there... Careing Loving place
My dog Sophia stayed at Doggy Paddle for about 3 weeks from 15th December 17 to 9th January 18. Sophia had just had a TPLO procedure two weeks prior and had subsequently had another operation to secure the muscle. I felt that she needed special care and especially to be kept calm and still and this was not possible at home with 4 other dogs. Doggy Paddle collected Sophia from Jhb Specialist Vet and I was there to book her in. I was assured that she would get the care she needed and was requested not to visit, as this would cause her to get excited. During this time she would require her stitches to be removed and I was assured that this could be done at Doggy Paddle. This was the longest three weeks of my life, but eventually the 9th of January came and they transported Sophia to Jhb Specialist Vet for her checkup. I met her there and immediately after went back to Doggy Paddle to settle the bill and discuss any further treatment. On getting Sophia home I discovered that her ears were covered in crusted blood and that her wound where her stitches were removed had a lump at the bottom of it which started to seep with blood and fluid. I took Sophia to my local vet who told me that her ears had been bitten by flies and that he would need to scrape them clean and he would treat her seeping wound, which he did and he put her on antibiotics. Needless to say I was devastated to think that my beloved dog had been sitting in a cage being bitten by flies, day in and day out for 3 weeks! Had Doggy Paddle told me I would have brought her something to alleviate the problem and had I known that the wound did not look right I would have taken her to the vet! I called Doggy Paddle and told them that it was unacceptable that nobody cared or noticed that she was being bitten and that her wound was not healed properly. I asked them to immediately go and check all the other dogs that were there, to ensure that they were not being bitten by flies. They apologised profusely and I do understand that this was a holiday period, however Doggy Paddle was fully booked and it was obviously a busy period, they should have staffed up to ensure the care of all the animals that were entrusted to them. I feel that this was lacking for whatever reason. If I give them the benefit of the doubt regarding the wound that it perhaps was not seeping during the time that she was there and that they didn't notice a lump at the bottom of it, I still cannot believe that they didn't see that her ears were covered with scaly dried blood! I decided not to take Sophia there for any further treatment and the next time should I have to entrust my dog to care I will make sure I have made a full assessment of the facilities and the staff. I would highly recommend Doggy Paddle for pets with mobility issues like arthritis and joint dysplasia. The staff are highly knowledgable, friendly and animal lovers to the core. Our dog Mila was nervous of the water at first but their gentle encouragement allowed her confidence to grow and the therapy really helped her cope with her hip and elbow dysplasia.
