After several unpleasant experiences with gynecologists, I was nervous for my appointment this morning - I had no reason to be, Dr Sonntag is wonderful and I'll definitely be seeing her for life. She was recommended to me by a few people and I understand why; she was patient, kind, gentle, informative and so much more. Thank you endlessly, Dr Sonntag. I also only had pleasant experiences with her receptionist who was just as patient and lovely.
Dr Kim was my doctor during my pregnancy and she did a fantastic job. My labor and delivery was quick with very little pain and it was an incredible experience to have such a wonderful doctor and nurse beside me. Thank you!
The Most sweetest soft spoken n caring gynaecologist around. Had a pleasant pregnancy experience with her with each appointment had an unexpected complication which she handed so so well. Before meeting dr Sonntag I had a previous gynaecologist who I felt was very cold n definitely not sympathetic towards patients in any case of concern the patient has regarding pregnancies n the scares that comes with it sometimes I was horrified leaving there. I however went with dr Sonntag n has been happy since N it’s a bonus that she communicates with patients via email if you have any questions instead of setting up appointment for a visit for some queries n concerns you might have.she Have no problem going an extra mile for her patients. I 1000% recommend her. With her warm n friendly receptionist Jill and naathierah : I wish you guys all the best of luck as you continue to make other mommies journeys as pleasant as mine was.
5 reasons why I DO NOT RECOMMEND this hospital, the maternity ward, or any of its affiliated medical suite practitioners: 1. There was no doctor present at the birth of my son. This is despite me having been to the maternity ward on two separate occasions the day before for cramps, checking into the hospital ward more than an hour before giving birth, and arriving 2 hours before that. 2 On-call doctor Dr. Naiker prescribed antibiotics to me at 39 weeks pregnant, sighting a UTI despite never having examined me. 3. My obstetrician arrived 15 minutes after I had delivered and asked US what time he was born. 4. When I asked Dr. Kim Sonntag -the obstetrician I had been seeing since 29 weeks pregnant-why I was still liable to pay for the full amount despite her absence at the birth, Dr. Kim Sonntag dared to say "The medical aid still covers the delivery even if the birth was missed as long as the placenta was delivered by the health provider" which made me think this was not the first incident of its kind at the hospital. Needless to say, this expense was not an insured expense but rather paid for by my husband and me. 5. I do not have a single clear scan of my son since having moved to Kingsbury, every single one of them looks like they been taken in the 1970s But hey, I mean food is okay, and the bathrooms in the private ward were always clean, so there's that. My advice? Go to Mediclinic instead.
Excitedly came here for my very first ultrasound, treated badly from the beginning as Dr Kim arrived late with no apology and went on to speaking to my partner and I as though we shouldn’t have been there. I suspect it was because we’re black. A sad memory i’ll never forget!
Best Gynae! Dr Sonntag and staff are absolutely amazing! Every visit, every interaction, even now 7 months later after having my babyboy, the care and service I get every time I pass by, call or email for assistance, has been absolutely amazing! Thank you Dr for so beautifully and delicately handling my pregnancy and the delivery of my first child. No matter how far away we move we will make the trip to specifically always go to Dr Sonntag for all gynae visits. Thank you to your team for also always being as amazing as you are. God bless you and your practice and all future mommies requiring your care! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
She was my first gynecologist and i saw her for my first pap smear and not happy about how my IUD insertion and removal was handled. Not happy with the treatment I received and the lack of information or care given by the doctor. I got more information from Twitter and Google than i did from the doctor. I could go into further and grotesque details but out of respect for the platform, I won’t. Only reason i went back to her to take it out was because she’s the only one who was available immediately as it was urgent. Maybe she’s more of a doctor for pregnant people than regular women with normal issues and needs. Definitely not for me and I advise you to do your own research about anything prior to seeing her because there’s very little information you’ll receive from her offices, unless maybe if you’re pregnant. Writing this review months later due to the lasting effects of what i went through at her offices. I have nothing against the doctor personally and I’m sure she doesn’t remember me. But, as this was not free, I feel the need to comment about just how awful it was and has been. I also shared this with other women and they too agree that the way i was handled was just not “the best” to put it lightly.
I would highly recommend Dr Sonntag. She is honestly the nicest,most considerate Gynaecologist. She makes you feel comfortable , safe and always willing to go the extra mile. Really wish I could have met her earlier to deliver all my children.
Kim is the best. Extremely professional and she will always pick the best route for your body and health. I love the fact that she is fully holistic and takes everything into account before making a decision. Happy to have found my forever doctor for all the things the future may bring.
Dr Kim will remain my favorite gynecologist everytime I think of Cape Town I think of her what a beautiful soul she is,I delivered my baby boy via emergency C/S 3rd August 2018,what an amazing Dr she is, her level of care a professionalism went beyond for me.
