Large, airy and posh. Prefect sized bathroom cubicles and amenities. Staff are friendly and jovial. I wasn't there long enough for much else but from passing by the stores, restaurants and lounges, it all looked very modern and trendy and the layout, practical.
Nice airport. Quite big so doesn’t feel too crowded. Decent shops and the Woolworths is really great right as you walk out of arrivals. There are some places to charge your devices once through security checks which is ver convenient and well thought out just opposite the Wimpy . Public piano is a nice touch but it has a few dud keys and needs a tune.
The size of this airport is only dwarfed by the size of the list of shops and bars not found within it. If ever there was a place that held so much emptiness within the vastness of its concrete footprint, this would be that place. And so I will continue sipping my cold Black Label draft as I wait for my plane and count the minutes until the gate opens.
Good, clean and efficient. Everything works on time of not faster. Could use a bit more signage to indicate upgrades and change of parking entrances etc.
I drop-off & fetch my wife weekly and I must say that the potholes on the departures upstairs has got a lot worse over the last few years. For an international & pretty new airport I find this very very disappointing. Have we South Africans just lost our pride or plain down do not care? Whose responsibility is it to ensure 5 star quality all round at the multi billion rand Airport. The guests landing here must be wow’ed as they step into the Zulu Kingdom, not stuck in a pothole more suited for a grazing “hippo” We’ve travelled internationally & some Airports are breathtaking eg. Istanbul, Turkey & Singapore …. Let’s get, just the little things right! SAY NO TO POTHOLES!!
Everything is demarcated and easy to find. The bathrooms and facilities are incredibly well kept. We parked the car there during our travels and returned to it as we left it. Overall, good service and we enjoyed our trip.
The waiting chairs at the international arrivals are carefully positioned in front of two massive pillars so that you cannot see who is arriving!! Should you decide to choose a seat on the other side of the pillars near the doors, then you will also face the pillars and your back will see the arriving passengers!! This is an example of intelligent design!!
Such an easy and clean airport. Almost now queues and good restaurants. Short flight from Johannesburg. Highly recommended
King Shaka is awesome and has good service at the counters. Only the airport guards that don't have humanity to help even on a sincere help that don't require process. I dropped my glasses unaware, instead of helping to look for them or letting/allowing me looking for them... they told me to go report in the office. ..such poor common sense
This isn't my first time coming to this Airport. It is a quiet & very beautiful airport but the problem is that the Ladies & Men's toilets doors don't lock & most of them just close only. Considering this is very big Airport surely the most important things should be in order.
