Durban Spa

Durban Spa was a welcome break for us.We had a 2 bedroom sea facing apartment and boy oh boy was that a real treat.Stunning sea views and glorious sunrises to view from the balcony or from the privacy of your bedroom. This unit had a micro wave, toaster , kettle, dishwasher and a 4 plate stove with a grill.As this is a self catering unit it was just what we needed. We had clean towels and the unit was cleaned on Monday & Wednesday.As our days started early with leisurely beach walks and a hearty breakfast everyday , it was just a great feeling. Checking out on Friday 05-08-22 was somewhat sad but necessary.Truly enjoyed our stay at Durban Spa & you should too.

Revamped room was lovely. We however were not told about the breakage deposit. Then after booking in we were not told how to get to the room from the parking. Ended up on the wrong lift with all our bags. Lucky for us a staff member assisted us but when checking in we should have been directed Smoking area miles away from any rooms. Not smoker friendly at all. The resort facilities not clear. In Durban CBD. Not ideal to walk about at night.

This has to be the worst self catering hotel ever!!! when we got to the hotel, we were meant to pay a breakage deposit which we were not told about. After that we went to our hotel room and oh boy…it was so dirty, the beds were unkempt and not done, they were washing curtains in the tubs, and the only thing that kept me going throughout the holiday was the beach and other entertainment places around the hotel.. please do a better job. Thank you!

This is not a good place to be for vacation. Our room was so crammed. Two bedroom but only one double bed. The rest is sleeper couches, that are not even dressed up. The place has cokroches, the housekeeping is very poor. Bed not properly made and the room not properly cleaned. The fridge is the smallest one, for family vacation. This place is the worst. Check up time on Friday is at 9am, and check in time is 3pm. I regret to be in this place, but never again.

One of the worst place to stay in durban. i think the reviews here that are so wonderful all are from family and friends of durban spa. After checking in we made several requests to change our room, but they were all only interested to sell us there timeshares policy's. We were booked for 4 nights, but could not stay more then 1 night. Bathroom were unusable Towels were smelling bad. Very very bad situation at Durban spa.

This was a last minute booking, and we regret every minute of it. The apartment is infested with cockroaches! The neighbourhood is loud and the receptionist was unfriendly. I will not stay here again, I am completely grossed out by the cockroaches and will probably have to fumigate our luggage before going home, because I’m scared of taking this infestation home with us. Utterly disappointed. Dream vacations and The holiday club should remove this listing from their portfolio

Yho the hotel on the outside is so clean, even the reception area. The bedrooms are clean. However the bathroom and kitchen, i have never seen such filth. If i had money i would have moved out the same day. The tiles on the bathroom wall are dirty as well as the mirror on the wall. The microwave looks like it was last wiped a year ago. We didnt even use it. The outside of the fridge is so dirty that it looks beige no longer white. There are sticky hands and dirt on the outer part of the fridge. There was a foul smel in the bathroom. There were spider webs on the windows, there is even mold in the windows and bathroom. The dustbins were not taken out there was just a smell in the corridors because they keep the rubbish bins in the stair ways.

The best place to have a holiday at, will not mind going there again, it was our second time there. Just the rooms need to be renovated or maintained better shower head was falling the hole time bathroom window didn't close. But other then that we still love it there.Rooms: 3/5

It's not like it's a bad place. But someone with a family of five books a room and you give them a one room condo. That's unfair. What we saw on the website is completely different from what we found. Coz we were shifting from a larger hotel only to find small space. Wish we stayed the other side but its not possible. The rooms a re okay for a couple without kids. There's a queen bed. WiFi, Netflix and all.

I enjoyed my stay at Durban Spa. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The maintenance gentleman , Lall, came and fixed the stove promptly. The accommodation was clean and I would liked to have seen a bigger unit.
