Eden Natural Birth is a consortium of midwives, doulas and birth professionals who offer services covering all aspects of women's reproductive health.
The modern, professionally trained midwife is a specialist in all aspects of childbearing.
They are qualified not only to take responsibility for woman prenatally and throughout labour and birth, but are also trained to provide postnatal care and guidance for 6 weeks following birth. The midwife has developed specific skills to help support the physiological and psychological processes of birth, to understand deviations from the norm and to know when obstetric advice or assistance is required.
It is the midwife's job to offer care and support to the woman as a whole. She is the bridge between womb and world and provides as safe a passage as possible for both mother and baby at this most profound and transitional time in both of their lives.
Eden Natural Birth comprises several professionally trained women in diverse areas of Reproductive and Women's Health - from Certified Professional Midwives, SANC Registered Midwives, Registered Doulas, Lactation Consultants, Wise Women Herbalists and Placenta Encapsulation Specialists!
We also assist women with fertility advice, antenatal classes and groups, post natal care as well as a myriad of other services for women who wish to become pregnant, those who are pregnant, or those who need more information about women's health.
Our midwives specialize in home birth and water birth, though they also are very happy to accompany women to hospital, liason with their obstetrician or other members of their birth team, as well as assist them in fulfilling their birth plan. We also have a staff of doulas who are trained in offering immense emotional support and guidance through pregnancy, labour and delivery.
We also offer several more specialized services for our clients, including pregnancy massage, aromatherapy, reflexology, lactation consultation, placenta encapsulation as well as nutritional guidance and herbal remedies for common ailments or complaints!
