Situated in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, adjacent to the Kruger National Park, Elephant Plains Game Lodge offers excellent Big 5 game viewing, luxurious accommodation and sumptuous cuisine. The lodge caters for the discerning traveller, offering a variety of accommodation options, varying from rondavels and luxury suites to the Manyeleti honeymoon suite.

Elephant Plains Game Lodge is world renowned for excellent Big 5 game viewing and guests can enjoy two game drives and a bush walk per day. Facilities include two swimming pools, a spa, gym, conference centre, small library and games room. We also cater for small, intimate weddings. The lodge is owner run and can accommodate a maximum of 24 guests. This guarantees personal service and attention to detail. Our unpretentious style ensures that guests regrettably leave the warm and friendly atmosphere of our little piece of Africa.

The 3 night stay was the highlight of our excellent trip to Africa. The lodge is on the private Sabi Sand Game Reserve adjacent to the Kruger National Park. The cabin was excellent, luxurious and spacious as can be seen from the attached photos. The en-suite had a large bath and internal and external showers. There were two superb game drives each day. Our guide was young, friendly and enthusiastic. He managed many close encounters with wildlife. All staff were very professional and friendly. It was a very good choice for our first safari.
We stayed at this beautiful lodge in 2018, reviewing it very late. It was such a memorable experience the place is very inviting and staff are hospitable, rooms are spacious and comfortable. And food is excellent, special mention. We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days got to see 4 safaris and saw lot of animals. The highlight of the safari is we use to have a small tea party in the jungle, drinks and snacks were spread on the bonnet of the jeep, and hear stories about the jungle and animals from the guide and driver. Unforgettable stay. Only bad experience was we lost some dollars which was kept inside the suitcase which was not locked, it was just closed. Reported it to the lodge but no action or apology was given from their side. Aprt from this rest all were very good
Amazing place! So glad to have our first safari experience here. The whole staff was amazing and so friendly. Our ranger Gabe was awesome, so knowledgeable and fun to have guide us! Would definitely recommend
If you want to watch animals and see the Big Five, then you should definitely come to Elephant Plains. The guides do their best to make visitors' dreams come true. But not only the safaris are great, also the accommodation, the food and the service. I eat vegan and got delicious food every day. Absolutely recommendable!Rooms: 5/5
WOW WOW WOW!! I wish I could give one million stars. I’m already thinking of when I can come back. The place is absolutely perfect, the lodge is modern, clean, beautiful, in the perfect spot. I saw elephants and rhino right from the pool. The monkeys were adorable too. The staff were amazing, they made the experience so personalized, and really paid extra attention to every detail, even my many food allergies. The food was amazing, and I’m an extremely picky eater. Drinks were awesome. And of course most importantly the drives were awesome!! Doctor and Colbert went above and beyond to find us every animal we wanted to see. I was blown away at how close we got to the animals, especially the lions. Doctor is extremely knowledgeable and experienced in the bush. I stayed in the upgraded rooms and it was unbelievable. The other smaller rooms looked a bit dated, but the type I stayed in couldn’t have been better. The only thing I could say would be an improvement is if they warned people how long the drive in is. On gps it will say it’s a short time but it was actually over 2 hours longer than it said due to poor road quality. There weren’t many signs on the route, so it felt like I was completely lost many times, you really have to track the kms on each road listed by the map that they send. Overal I can’t believe it’s only listed as 4 stars, because it’s a 5 for sure. I don’t want to go anywhere else in SA now!
What can I say! We had such a wonderful time. As a larger group traveling together, we were easily accommodated for meals together and had just enough people we filled one safari vehicle. The food was plentiful and amazing. We all stayed in various parts of the lodge but really enjoyed our rooms and varied views immensely. The actual outings into the bush were phenomenal and our guide and tracker Kaiser and Dumi were insightful, thoughtful, and really played to our groups strengths, never failing to remind us for the 100th time what a bird was called when we couldn't remember ; It was great to see how friendly they were with other lodges in the area, too, and everyone worked together to really help guests see the best stuff. We saw the big 5, wild dogs, and so much more. It rained quite a bit but they had stuff to help us keep dry and warm as possible. I've never been so close to wildlife and it was truly incredible. I hope to go back some day.
INCREDIBLE SAFARI. We saw the big 5 in 2 days here and even saw a hunt. The have a schedule where they wake you at 5am, go to safari at 5:30am, breakfast at 8:30am, bush walk at 9:30am, lunch at 2pm, safari at 4pm, dinner at 8pm and then you do it all over again! The only downside was the food, it was either incredibly salty or sweet and it was pretty heavy for our activities. The lodging was great though and enjoyed our view from the balcony, we even saw an elephant herd go by. The staff, our guide and tracker were awesome as well and they were very knowledgeable.

To get there you and your car needs to be clever. To put it softly the roads are bad. But being at Elephants Plains you forgot everything and enjoy the environment. A real nice place to go to and enjoy everything they offer.
Game viewing is some of the best in the country. Staff are very helpful and always have a smile.Rooms: 4/5
