I rented a mid size vehicle for 6 days. Free mileage was 1200 km ie 200km per day. My trip meter which I initiated at the start showed my total mileage at 450km odd well within the free mileage upon return. I then get my invoice claiming I had driven 3100km an impossibility as it would have meant driving to Durban from Lanseria daily! I was then charged R4 a km excess charge some R7500 in total. A massive rip off. I logged a complaint through the call centre and still awaiting a reply and refund.
A big rip off claiming inflated mileage. Make sure you photograph the milometer and record your mileage using the trip meter otherwise you are liable to be defrauded big time. Better still use an ethical car rental company.
I've rented twice from this branch. Staff are friendly and efficient. Extending a rental is so easy. Very good price and service.
Excellent service. They go through the agreement with you thoroughly so that you understand everything and change the contact from standard to super if you booked online and weren’t sure about the options, with no issues. My husband left his jersey in the first car hire and when he phoned the next morning, they had it for him ready to collect.
I have rented from here almost every week for at least a year now. The staff is always friendly and helpful and they even sorted me out on the occasions when I forgot to make a booking. I have only good things to say!
Excellent service. The staff are helpful and friendly and the car I hired was brand new and I enjoyed every minute of my Datsun Go. Super little car.
You supposedly get a preferential rate if you fly SafAir, if only they were open. That's the thing. At 9am. On a week day. So ya.
The staff here are either not clued up or just plain incompetent. I drove all the way to pick up a car and upon my arrival I was told that they cannot offer me the car I booked because they were offline. The following day when I called I was told that I should arrange with the branch I spoke to initially by the way the Roodepoort branch is awesome!!!. I would really not go back to Lanseria first car rental even if it was the only branch available. They are still light years behind when it comes to customer service!!!
You let your customers believe that they are insurred and have piece of mind should a accident occur with the rented vehicle they are covered and should only pay a exess fee.But in truth you dont have insurance on your vehicles.you say we are "self insurred"but that is just a fancy way of saying we dont have insurance.I was standing at a red robbot and your client bump me from behind.She reported it to you and admitted that it was entirely her fault.Only for me to hear from you i should sue your client for the damages and the exess feeof my insurrance as well as any legal costs that may occur as result of this.This is absolutely ridiculous that your customer is going to have to pay up to R50 000 because you are "self insurred" .So there is no cover if you damage another vehicle.imagine renting a vehicle from you and you have a accident with a vehicle of a value above a million rand.you would have your client be liable for that.Accidents happen and your clients should not be held liable for the full amount and then she also had to pay the repair of your vehicle.just insane.Rent at your own risk from 1st car rental
Did not explain where to drop off at the car at Lanseria..even though we asked this specifically while getting the car..and not one visable sign at the airport for First car rental so almost missed the flight! Please get your signs in order or atleast instruct your staff to explain properly where and how the car must be dropped! Unnecessary stress!
