Fresh Stop One up is a 24-hour convenience store in the township of Katlehong. We offer our offer customers an extensive fresh produce section and our customers will be able to stock up on a wide range of snacks and take-away.
Fresh Stop One up is a 24-hour convenience store was opened on the 1st September 2016 in the township of Katlehong. It is the first to open in the Kathorus region and is the 231 store to open nationally. The store was previously a Star Mart and has always been jointly operated by R&R Makhubo.
We the only convenience store in the area to offer customers an extensive fresh produce section and our customers will be able to stock up on a wide range of snacks and take-away, from grilled chicken, healthy smoothies and fruit salads. We will also offer meals like pap and meat, fish and chips and quarter loafs etc. We currently offer Lavazza Coffee; to those customers on the move can grab a quick cup of gourmet coffee to go.
Though a part of a franchise, Fresh Stop One Up is 100% black owned and managed by both the owners/partners. We have been operating the business for the past 6 (six) years and have gained valuable insight and experience of the running the business. In the duration of operation we have managed to keep a very low staff turnover which is an indication of how we manage our human capital.
We employ 9 people majority young black females whom we assist with their studies and offer in house training to increase their skill which they can use in the future. We truly believe that if you empower a woman you empower the nation.
The conversion to Fresh Stop has enabled us to employ more people who we’ve train in operating our state of the art cooking facilities and systems including various other position in the store. Our aim has always been to develop our community through employing people from the surrounding areas and giving them job opportunities and skills that they can use to better their lives.
