My insurance ordered a specific vechile with them and the lady that works there doesn't do her job properly after asking me what vechile I needed and still brought the wrong vechile in the morning and made me wait there for 3 and a half hours. Would not recommend this business as I was made out to be a liar. Worst service
Very terrible service. I was in an accident, my insurance organised for a car hire through them. Firstly, the initial hire was for 7 days but was extended which they had no record of but that was then sorted between my insurance and them. Then when the car is due, i called them for a pickup and the lady confirmed the time. The time passes and i call them again but go through to switchboard, my details are taken but no one gets back to me. A few minutes later i get an sms that i must confirm my address for pickup to who exactly?. So i call again to confirm and the lady tells me they did not send the sms, it was Bidvest. I asked if someone is actually coming to collect the car or what, and the lady just cut me off. Pathetic service, seems like no one knows what is happening with regards to their hires.
I would highly not recommend using them. I have been in an accident and have a rental vehicle on my policy for 30 days. The rental vehicle went via Gage Car hire. Anyhow all went great up to about a week before the vehicle was due back. They called me everyday to remind me of the date at which the vehicle is due as if i cannot read or comprehend. It turned out that my insurance tried to extend the rental; however the response from Michelle was that I as the client was disrupting their business by renting a vehicle from a rental company????. Wow where is -5 star rating?
Gage Car hire is pathetic. I was involved in an accident and, as per my policy, a rental would be given to me for 30 days. I was unfortunately supplied with a gage rental. Upon delivery, I was delivered a dirty car and the driver walked briskly around the car. 30 incident and care free days passed and they came to collect the car. This time the driver finds a scratch on the bottom lip of the bumper, which to my amusement had already been touched up with touch-up paint?? I also find it quite suspicious that he immediately knew to go to that exact spot on the car before doing a full walk-around. The driver then proceeded to interrogate me and asked me to provide him with the slip that the delivery driver filled out to see if he marked this scratch. Unsurprisingly, it had not been marked. I then laughed it off and asked the driver, "do you really think I would scratch the car and go through the hastle of getting touch up paint and touch it up?" He looked at me with an attitude and told me I would not be the first person to try such a stunt. I immediately hopped on the phone to Gage for them to pull records of the car as all car hire companies have to get the driver off his witch hunt. Explained the situation to the lady who told me to hand my phone to the driver. He handed my phone back and said he is accepting the car as is and drove off. An hour later Europe car gage car hire inform me that a damage/loss claim is being lodged against me. To which I phoned Europecar and explained my situation to them and I want records of the car as the record will show that I was not responsible for a scratch that had already been touched up? Europe car transfered me to gage to speak to the branch manager Cherise and her words to me, summed up, were upon delivery of the car the scratch was not stated and I signed for the car therefore the scratch did not exist until the car was in my possesion and that I must take my argument to to Europecar's damages/claims department. I must now suffer the consequences of an incompetent employee who failed to complete the initial inspection effectively and also failure of the company to make record of the scratch.
Poor service... I hope never to use them. I'm disgusted by the service. Deserve half a star.
Highly unprofessional and rude on the phone. Delivered my car the wrong date and time. They gave me the blame. I will never recommend Gage car hire to anyone.
