Ganzekraal Holiday Resort

Beautiful setting, excellent value for money making it accessible to people of varied financial backgrounds, sliding cost scale for different access times, making it possible for many different people to visit eg we as retired people could share a cottage with retired friends during the week, out of season time at an affordable price. Sensible rules for noise and cleanliness, easy access to and from many places. We will return and recommend.

This was my first experience here. The quietness, away from the city noises. The only sound you hear is the sea waves hitting the rocks and birds singing early in the morning. The only downfall is the state of the rooms. The taps not working properly. The ceiling's paintwork is starting to peel off. The bathroom doors are stuck and not closing properly. The bathroom floors were all cracked. The furniture in the lounge area lost its softness and all you feel is the hardness of the woodwork. I know it's only a place to stay temporarily for a short holiday but with the expenses we pay per day, the owner can do some renovations. I will gladly be back again. We couldn't swim for that few days as the sea was covered with foam. No staff came around to find out if all was OK, which I found very strange. I hope and pray that the next time I pop around the place will have a face-lift. Thank you to my inlaws for recommending this holiday resort for us. Food & drinks: Be sure to pack in food and snacks as the shops are very far to get something to eat. No shops on the property.

Great, and well, recommend place to take a well-deserved break. Fishing enthusiasts would enjoy it a lot for a fee of R42, and even if you have a fishing permit, you pay for annually. It would have been nice if they offered day camping options as well. Nearby activities: Fishing

Spent the weekend at the resort, and the experience was not best. When we arrived, there was nobody to check us in, and show us around. We were also without electricity from 3pm until 8pm on the Friday, and there was absolutely no communication about the power outage. It was extremely unpleasant to sit in the dark for such a long without any apology or even assistance from the resort. We called the office several times to inform them that one of the toilets were not working, but they never answered. We also had no hot water for the weekend, as it appeared that the geyser had an issue, again, no explanation or apology about this inconvenience. The communication was really lacking. The place overall also requires some maintenance, as it is very outdated and has minimal supplies. There was hardly a proper knife to use in the kitchen.

There is not much upkeep in the actual units at the chalet itself, a lot of maintenance needed. Bathrooms, kitchen etc. But overall good experience, kids loved it because the chalets are quite close to the beach. Waking up to the sound of the waves was lovely. Great sunsets! Beautiful views! It's perfect for a family weekend away, rates are really affordable too.

It's a very cost-effective getaway if you have a large group. The chalets are big and easily sleep 6 people. The environment is peaceful near the ocean and the sound of the waves really something special to staying here. If your're interested in a large forum, there's a conference centre on site, but you'll have to call for rates on that. The big waves may make swimming dangerous so it's best to check conditions before heading into the water. They have caravans and camping sites as well. The area is safe and enclosed. Wheelchair users may have some difficulty in navigating the site and no day picnics are allowed.

The location is great, set along a beautiful bit of coastline. I have previously made use of the conference facility and tidal pool area, and it was great. On my latest instance I decided to make use of the caravan/camping space and my experience was not what I had expected. The force is good, but rules and regulations are not enforced which led to loud, blaring music being played late into the night, by guests. Very disappointing having such a beautiful space being spoilt in this manner.

What a awesome getaway. Basic, chilled and what you would expect for a budget holiday. I must say - the staff are so friendly and welcoming. I went away for a breakaway with my girlfriend to celebrate her birthday from 28Mar2022 until 31Mar2022 and we really got to relax, enjoy the walks and sounds of the ocean.
