Beautiful view of the Dam. Lovely Chalets.Visited onWeekdayWait timeUp to 10 minReservation recommendedNot sure
Clean, quiet, lots of wild life to see, great fishing spots. 10 km of fishing spots along the water to select from. Early bird cathes the best worm !!
What a beautiful restful place. Beautiful views and photo ops. Sunrise over the dam is awesome. Great place to come spend a couple of days to relax and recharge. Go for a game drive or a walk or just relax on the banks of the river. Can get very busy over peak season. Must experience the dam wall just a few kilometers down the road.
It's a beautiful place to go and chill with family. There's room for improvement in terms of accommodation
Beautiful views, Fresh air and peaceful.
Camped at Gariep recently as part of an epic Road trip. Very nice camping environment. Quiet and beautiful.
One of those places to go to if one wants to easily see game. Watching the kudu standing silently as they observed us in the early morning was a treat. Springboks, Gemsbok, ostrich, bontebok were all sighted. Website states that it’s open during the week only but it was open on the weekend when we went. The road was gravel but had just been maintained so was a beautiful but dusty drive.
Lovely and peaceful for an overnight sleep over in our own camper. Ladies ablutions were spotless with new tiles and basins. The bath was spotless and I Would have bathed but it looked like someone had taken the plug....there was a chain w/plug. Really nice....a few more hooks in the shower cubicle please. Men's ablutions were not well rated. Definitely a nice place.
Very relaxing mood. Will visit again, definitely.
The self catering accommodation seems to be quite good according to reviews, but you can't say that at all with the camping. Aside from the small sites and very near to your neighbours, the ablutions are really unacceptable. The water pipes system in the showers are constructed over the tiles?! May be it must give an impression for alternative solutions like the huge metal basket with big holes in it and then hoping that you soap and shampoo bottles will not fall through it ...?. The management also doesn't worry about maintenance as the 1st toilet was leaking, the 2nd toilet, the toilet seat was totally loose and the 3rd one the wooden toilet seat was split. And for all this misery, you still have to pay R 250 a night. Compare that with outstanding campings in the Sanparks, there we pay at some places only R170 a night as pensioners.
