Food is always good but do not visit close to closing time. There aren't many options and service is substantially lacking. I was ignored in the queue while the lady assisted a friend who came after me. Wasn't happy about waiting so long for 3 curries. Best to visit when opening or for lunch. Dining area is basic but comfortable. The lighting needs some work. Service staff are friendly and efficient. Food is cheaper if you eat in rather than take away. Portions are quite generous if you eat in so rather do that.

This is one of the best vegetarian restaurants/takeaways I have ever been to! It’s situated under the Hare Krishna Temple. Delicious food with friendly service! A really peaceful and beautiful place to eat!

Govindas is a restaurant attached to the Hare Krishna temple in Chatsworth, Durban. My mother was raised in Chatsworth and she used to bring us to this place often when we used to visit family, to teach us about different religions and because she loves vegetarian food. I visited the restaurant recently with my sister, after many years and I loved every minute of it. The food was delicious, big pieces of paneer in spicy chutney, soft potatoes and beans in a pungent curry, and some vegetable biryani and white rice to tie it all together. The food was inexpensive but very satisfying. Visiting this restaurant is an experience and I encourage everyone to try it, atleast once.

We used to frequent this place however the manager was very rude and did not want to justify the limited vegetarian food suppliers - She mentioned that they only sold products that she approved of and not based on customer demand!! That does not make sense and smells like collusion with suppliers - Please review and revert.

Best vegetarian food you can get. Excellent taste, very clean place. Staff are pleasant. Price is good. Venue has ample parking.

Vegan and vegetarian restaurant. Always a bliss to go there. With COVID there is limited access to the area, they have handled the situation excellently!!

Best fresh cream doughnuts ever. Tastiest soya burgers. Absolutely scrumptious eggless fresh cream cake. Excellent customer service.
