Was admitted to the Maternity ward a while back. Was treated really well from when I came in until I left. Really clean hospital with lovely staff.
Late review but honestly felt like i needed to show some appreciation for the service i was given at the Busamed Hillcrest hospital. Last year around christmas i was admitted at the ground floor private wards honestly so sad that to be admitted and sick instead of being with my family during the holidays but the staff were so sweet and made me feel so much better honestly treating me so well with the constant check ups, great conversations and reassurance, i left feeling great and so appreciative. This hospital has become my family’s go to hospital as we always receive great service.
Thank you so much to all the staff at the hospital, all of which were friendly, professional and kind. A special thank you to the nurses in Surgical 1a, they went above and beyond in helping me get better. And a big thank you to Theatre Matron Frankel, Jen and all the theatre staff for doing a great job, not only with the procedure but the constant communication and excellent bedside manners. And Dr Galt for being so kind and thorough. Thank you all again.
I was admitted to BUSAMED Hillcrest maternity ward for some complications before my delivery date. The nurses there were simply amazing, They became family to myself and my husband. I must commend them on the most excellent care and service. I know that my delivery and recovery will be in the best hands.
From the resident Gynea, Dr Graeme Birdsey & his team, to helpful Othelia at pre-admissions, to the welcoming admission staff, to the Anesthetist Dr G. Redfern, to the sweet Physical Therapist Danielle, to the amazing surgical ward A1 nurses team & staff Angela, Rita, Nozipho, Sne', Hazel, Fortunate and more, to the friendly Porter who wheeled me out, all I can say is a HUGE THANK YOU FOR THE EXCEPTIONALLY HIGH PROFESSIONAL STANDARD OF SERVICE, CARE & PERSONAL ATTENTION RECEIVED THROUGHOUT MY STAY. Busamed Hillcrest felt like a 5 star hotel! I really enjoyed the privacy & comfort of the intimate en-suite 3-bed room. The bed was incredibly flexible & comfortable, and cleanliness was exceptional. Security is tops. And the Java Cafe make delicious cappuccinos. The whole experience was super and I'd highly recommend Busamed Hillcrest.
My mother in law was admitted to hospital. Despite the fact that she has cancer and needs her Chemo, the nurse in question refused to administer same. Needless to say she had requested assistance on no less than 4 occasions and confirmation having been received from her DR that it is NECESSARY! Not only is this supposed to be a private hospital, these are people's lives you are dealing with!
I've been to this ER 5 times in 10 years. Have previously had good experience. This time, although the nursing staff remain great and helpful, the doctors on duty were pitiful. They had a veneer of arrogance covering their insecurity. Not willing to listen to symptoms nor history. On insisting that I speak to the orthopedic surgeon and physician who are not part of the ER practice I finally got good medical attention for my mother
Casualty staff from a medical perdpective were great, but the fact that casualty is outsourced by Busamed to a separate service provider is abysmal from an admistrative perspective. My wife was seen by casualty staff and following a diagnosis that was a PMB was immediately hospitalised for several days. Whilst all the hospital expenses were fully covered under my medical aid, because the outsourced casualty failed to include the relevant ICD 10 codes, medical aid declined payment. Despite multiple requests to ER Consulting to complete the PMB application form including twice personally handing the form to them over a period of 4 months, nothing has been resolved, and all we get are letters from them threatening legal action if the account is not immediately paid. Busamed should either be directly monitoring the administration provided by this service provider to ensure a seamless experience when patients end up being admitted to hospital via casualty or, at the very least, should help resolve admin issues that may arise.
Hillcrest Hospital in particular the Ward 1 nursing staff are the worst I've experienced of all the hospitals I've been to. My dad was admitted over a week ago and I've been visiting daily to check up on him. The Nursing staff are never able to answer simple questions, like has he eaten, did he have bloods taken, were his meds administered, did he have an MRI, did he have a CT scan, did he have an EEG. They often contradict each other and didn't allow me access to his file to check what was going on. He also had a wound which was not cleaned timeously or properly. The lack of professionalism is a real concern, I would be concerned for any patient being admitted to Ward 1 and would really be concerned of negligence if I was managing the hospital.
I was admitted to the medical ward 7B on Thursday 3rd in the afternoon. The nurses were absolutely fabulous, they settled me in with care and encouragement. Friday the nursing was excellent. Saturday it was shocking the Sister in charge was grumpy and full of attitude, as, was the nurse Zinahle who was helping from the surgical ward, in fact, she was positively rude and cruel to an elderly lady in 7A who was very ill. Sunday the same Sister was on duty, different nurse also from surgical, who was equally rude and most unhelpful. Otherwise, Trauma, Admissions , Drs, Radiologists, Physiologists and Ampath were excellent. The food was nicely presented, very tasty, with friendly staff. The wards and bathrooms were spotlessly clean. I would like to give special thanks to Sister Sally Quill for her friendly, caring nursing.
