Description

Julio Duarte is a restauranteur who has run successful restaurants in Durban for nearly thirty years. He is passionate about creating a vibrant atmosphere, serving authentic and tasty Portuguese cuisine. Julio has a history of successful family-run businesses including Cabanas in Montclair, Neocafe in North Beach, Julio's Continental Restaurant in Davenport Road, Julio's on Albufeira (Algarve, Portugal), Julio's on Ballito and Julio's Umhlanga. Now Julio operates Julio's on the Bay alongside the newly opened Julio's Cabana.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Julio's Cabana and I must say, it was an exceptional experience! The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the chicken - it was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. To make the experience even more enjoyable, I had the opportunity to speak with the owner, Sandy, Tasha who waitered, was simply amazing. She went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was a memorable one, providing excellent service and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Overall, I would highly recommend Julio's Cabana to anyone looking for delicious food and excellent service. The chicken alone is worth the visit, but the exceptional customer service provided by Sandy and her team truly sets this restaurant apart. I can't wait to return for another amazing meal!
Have had prawns before when owned by the previous owner. The presentation then was great... this time it was served swimming in a liquid. Dud not enjoy. The prawns themselves were fine...it was the way they were served!

A bit disappointed. Very good service from our waiter . Chicken and prawn combo good. Calamari mains excellent. My wife's garlic prawns not great. Add the garlic next time. Great atmosphere.
Had a really good afternoon with the peeps in Julios. Chilled relaxed vibe. The live music wad awesome and the food really good. I should have taken more pics of the food. Owners are super nice as well.
Been coming to this restaurant for years and they never disappoint! Amazing service and delicious food! If you ever find yourself in or around this area, make sure to make this Julio's your no.1 stop. Ps. On this night I decided on trying out the chicken and prawn curry. The flavors dance in perfect combination, giving you the best tasting experience ever! After finishing dinner I gave back my plate cleaner than the dishwasher could make it : Previously I've tried the calamari, the prawns and the chicken and as I've mentioned, the quality and taste of the food is always top notch
I recently visited Julios on Mackeurtan Avenue and had an amazing experience. We booked a table for a birthday party and was very pleased to find they had gone the extra mile with decorating the table for us. The food was prepared to perfection and service was brilliant. Highly recommend you give this place a try.Food: 5/5
Very pleasant atmosphere,also a very popular spot to hang out with friends,the staff and owner are always so polite and welcoming...the food is always up to standard and served exceptionally well,dessert was a bonus!
