I was looking forward to a nice weekend away according to the pictures advertised and was extremely disappointed... The units are not well equipped for the extremely cold weather overnight. The fire place dies out after about an hour and there are many gaps through the tent where the cold comes in. The aircon is right ontop of the kids bed and can not be on directly on your child that's sleeping there. The nights are extremely cold and unbearable. I fell sick the very first night but tried to make the best of it. The hot tub didn't work as planned and the kids got in a luke warm hot tub.. very disappointing.. I got worse the 2nd night as it was another extremely cold evening... I couldn't risk staying another night as the extreme cold coming through in the tent was what I dreaded.a The accommodation was not cheap and I am so upset that our hard earned money WASTED. Definitely would not recommend, and won't return. I tried to speak to management to allow us stay this one night some other time but they refused. They weren't concerned at all about me getting very sick there, all they were concerned about is there termination penalties... No empathy for their guest at all.. The mistake I made was not to check the reviews of previous unhappy guests... I'm not the first...
What a great place to camp. Staff was friendly, they made you feel welcome. The only suggestion that would make the stay even better is to have a bigger pool or more pools on the resort. Will definitely be going back.
Very nice resort. Our kids had lots of fun fun and it is a relaxing place to camp at. The only reason for the 4 stars is that they need to replace the old shower heads that are really terrible and get themselves sorted for load shedding. They have all the things needed to be able to be on while load shedding but for some reason are not. Other than that top notch. The staff are all friendly and willing to go out of their way for you. Like bringing ice to our site on Xmas day. Well done to Kambati. You will see us again.
This is a wonderful place for the children to play in the sun and swim. The staff are very friendly. A special thank you to Lionel, who went out of his way to make our stay as nice as possible. Nothing was ever to much or to difficult. The shop and supply store is well stocked with necessities like ice, slush puppiesan essential drink in December wood and meat. The only thing I would say that the owners can work on is a backup for the water supply in times of loadshedding. They could also supply more than one small pot, a pan and one dish for food preparation. Thank you for a wonderful time.
Very beautiful place to camp, however they need to be abit more strict with regards to people checking in. Never in my life have a I had someone drive onto my campsite at 9.15 in the morning and start setting up while we were packing up.
Worst campsite ever! The owners don't care about customer service. One of our campsite was slanted and we couldn't pitch a tent do cramped onto 2 sites. The day we arrived I phoned and left 2 messages for urgent assistance. I emailed, spoke to the maintenance manager the front office. No one assisted. The owner took weeks to answer back. Everything was disgusting. Do not book here!
Here are my concerns: No drinking water. Yes, they sell water but it's more expensive. The shop sells very limited items, the small restaurant making pizzas had many issues like no stock, orders took very long and the guy behind the counter had a bad attitude. Men's shower heads had very little pressure and sometimes had no toilet papers. Campsites is big, and you might be placed far from ablutions and swimming pools, so check where your allocated site is. There is a need for more showers. Lionel and lady at the reception are very helpful, but it's seems they are not supported. The river was full and if you bring your own kayak then fun can be had as the venue has none.
Spent a weekend with family in three tent units. Accomodation was practical and worked well. The following was a challenge for me, 1. The rooms were infested with 100's flies and all sorts of little creatures. The sizes of the spiders were scary and two of the kids became hysterical seeing them in the room. The flies overshadowed any good experience. 2. The water supply kept failing to all our units due to problems at the pumps. 3. The warm baths read as jacuzi were filled with pothole water, you can imagine the color being brown brown...looked very nasty. 4. Some of the personnel was exceptional in service delivery whereelse the rest looked they were just breathing. 5. Due to the directions of the GPS WE ended up lost in total darkness and on a horrid gravel road. 6. The entrance to the resort from the N2 leads immediately to a gravel road for a few kilometres with tiny directions. 7. No alternative lighting available during loadshedding. 8. The cost was overly excessive cR15k for 3 units for 2 nights. Will not recommend this to anyone.
Awesome campsite! The staff are friendly and helpful. The ablutions are good and most sites are well shaded.
What a lovely resort! So much for the kids to do! We visited during the week and had the pools and slides all to ourselves. It was so quiet we could hear the cows at night. The restaurant at the pool is a lovely addition, staff were friendly, and my daughter thoroughly enjoyed feeding the chickens and geese. We will definitely be back!! Thank you
