We had a very nice peaceful stay to get over our jet lag before going on safari. There are some nice walking trails nearby. The breakfast is excellent - with oysters and sparkling wine and hot and cold foods. Dinner was nice too. It’s busy on the weekends with people from the city but very quiet during the week. It’s a gorgeous estate and our room was very spacious and lovely. I would just add a better heater for winter. We really enjoyed our stay.
Overall experience was fantastic. We received such a warm welcome at reception when we arrived. The facilities are well maintained. We stayed at the Executive room and it was beautiful and clean i love clean spaces so was impressed. The food and ambitious at the restaurant so on point. Compliments to the chef we had an amazing dinner two nights in succession and the food was amazing. Love the touch of the tree in the restaurant MN
Having been here in 2018, I was pleasantly surprised by the changes made on the grounds 5 years later. It somewhat feels like an escape from the city, where you can read and enjoy the sun by the pool. The standalone suite is spacious and comfortable. The only downside is that I would recommend that those taking reservations at reception pay attention. We reserved a 6-course dinner for two at the signature restaurant and I specified that I am vegetarian, however upon arrival, it seems the message was not passed down and I settled for a dish on the a la carte general menu. That aside, this spot is a gem in the province.
Wow, I am super impressed with the upgrades that has taken place during the last couple of years. The new hotel block is really of superb quality and the lunch venue really is of international standard - WELL DONE!!! I must give credit to the amazing and friendly staff. The banqueting floor manager Lucky is really an asset to any conference and his fast and professional execution on Gala dinner was amazing.
Our stay at Kievits Kroon was overall enjoyable, and the majority of the team provided helpful service during our conference. I was satisfied with the level of service we received. However, I have to express my disappointment regarding a specific incident that led to my lower rating. On the day before our gala dinner, which was scheduled for Thursday, we approached the kitchen to request that our team be seated together at two long tables. We wanted to dine as a cohesive group. Unfortunately, we were informed that our request could not be accommodated due to the dining room rules, which prohibited moving the furniture. We were explicitly told that the table and chairs could not be rearranged, and the layout should always remain as it was. Imagine my surprise the following morning when I entered the dining area and discovered a party of approximately 10-15 guests sitting around a long table. This table had been constructed by moving a few tables and chairs around, something we were initially told was strictly against the rules. It seemed contradictory that our request was denied, yet they were able to rearrange the furniture for another group. After the group finished their meal and left, the restaurant staff began reorganizing the chairs and altering the layout. The resulting arrangement and colour scheme were markedly different from what we were initially informed would never change. It appears that tables and chairs can be rearranged under certain circumstances or for specific groups, which left me feeling perplexed and frustrated. To be frank, this entire experience has left me questioning whether I would be willing to book any future workshops or events at Kievits Kroon, as well as recommending the establishment to other.
The new look of the dining area was stunning and new. Loved it. The food was great. My room no 14 needs to be upgraded - The aircon made a noise - did not get the biscuits as all the other units did and the shower is very uncomfortable with broken attachments where I could not place my own shampoo and conditioner on.
Friendly staff, from checking in to our room straight trough to the cleaners the following morning. The food was amazing. We had a blast and a proper relaxation at the Spa. Breakfast was very good and so many options. Would HIGHLY recommend Kievits Kroon for any couple. Rooms: Warm, Cosy and romantic Walkability: You will want to walk and go for dinner. Experiencing everything is worth it. Food & drinks: AMAZING!!!!
Great facilities. Great service all round. Breakfast waiters and staff very efficient and service oriented! My partner is vegetarian and there was not variety which you can look into but when the gentleman who is doing to omelettes heard he said he will organize vegetarian sausages for him and this was provided for the rest of the days :-
I went to Kievits Kroon for my anniversary. The booking was for a two night stay, breakfast and spa. The Spa facilities were the highlight of the trip. Overall a great experience which was made possible by the a la carte restaurant staff and spa, the chefs from the restaurant came up and talked to us about the amazing food they had prepared. The spa was not so full on the say and the staff allowed us to take an extra 30min using the facilities.That attention to detail was a great added touch especially because we were sleeping on the premises. We arrived late on Friday and were chilling in the room so we did not make use of the in room facilities; but they were a call away when we requested for slippers and gowns in the room; they checked if we needed change of towels, tissue etc.
Tranquility at its best... quiet venue for workshops and lovely breakaway rooms. Comfortable bed and spacious rooms. Amazingly delicious variety of food and loved the fact that there were food for me that didn't contain sugar or starch.
