Kings Walden Garden Manor

We booked the picnic at Kings Walden, and everything was absolutely exquisite. The food was fantastic and we found a beautiful area of the gardens to sit and enjoy the picnic. Great service. Highly recommended to stop for a visit if you are in the area.Service: 5/5

Kings Walden is a legendary place in the Limpopo Lowveld and, despite knowing the area well, I visited it for the first time this Summer. Walking around the main building from the parking reveals the breathtaking view quite suddenly and we all paused to take it in. The view quite literally stopped us in our tracks. We were there to see the gardens. The trees and mass plantings of shade-loving forest floor plants are beautiful at any time of year. We were there to catch the pink and purple splendour of the Tibouchina trees in flower, and there were still a few hydrangea heads in their various shades of blue. We also had tea with a shared slice of delicious cheese cake in the most relaxing space on the patio overlooking the lightning tree and the blue mountains in the distance. Do not miss a visit to this magical place!

The Rooms were amazing and large, clean and peaceful, the view was spectacular!! And there is a lovely history tour in a beautiful garden of how kings Walden began... I will go here again and I will highly recommend you going!!!

A nice romantic place. You can see the very large garden was once a beautiful oasis. A bit weary at the moment. The road is challenging and definitely also need a bit of tlc.Rooms: 5/5

Terrible experience with the manager Monica! She is so rude and has bad attitude. Garden was so poorly maintained. I’m only giving this two stars because of the amazing service we received from the waiter and of cause those amazing views. But as for the way the place is ran! Terrible!Service: 2/5

After seeing all the amazing reviews, we were expecting the most breathtaking gardens. We were unfortunately underwhelmed. It seems these gardens have seen better days and it’s a bit sad how overgrown everything was. We were hoping to see the geese but were only met with monkeys. I’m not sure if we came during the off season perhaps. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating though. That really made up for it.

Had such a nice time here. The staff are friendly, engaging, and very hospitable. The gardens are gorgeous, and you cannot beat the view. Will definitely be back. Note: The Google Maps turnoff at the location itself is slightly inaccurate when driving from the Tzaneen side, but the turnoff onto the grounds is well marked.

The most stunning gardens I've ever seen. Feels like an era from "Lady of Shallot". A secret garden around every corner. Chef Chrissy is a legend and the fillet is hands down the most delicious I've ever had. Bridgette is a wonderful host. Definitely worth a visit!
