Kipling's Brasserie Restaurant - The Boardwalk Hotel

We had high tea today. We were not impressed. The venue is lovely, but the tea and food was average, and the service poor. Here are some suggestions for you to improve the experience 1 When we arrive, explain how it works, that it's a buffet, and there's hot and cold savory dishes 2 Make sure you have a good range of teas. Not having earl grey is ridiculous. 3 We asked for more cold milk, which should be easy, but it took ages. 4 The staff were too keen to remove plates that were still being used. 5 Train your staff not to clean the table until the guests have left. My partner's leg was sprayed with cleaning fluid as a result. 6 I had booked after seeing an advert on the web saying the cost was R105 per person. I now know it was out of date, perhaps in future you could put the dates for which it is valid on the advert. Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian options, no vegan.

The restaurant was closed and instead we ate in the lobby, which is very nice. 10/10 for the atmosphere when there's not a loud conference happening nearby. But the food was below average. The steaks are dry and tough and the salads are drenched in salad dressing. Overpriced for the quality of the dishes imo.Food: 2/5

Beautiful view of the ocean. No buffet breakfast due to COVID. All but hot breakfast was wrapped in plastic. Service was okay.
