Service: was greeted by the owner and her husband, quickly moved to the table which we opted for at the balcony but decided to switch due to the much colder temperatures. Was quickly re-seated. Service were prompt and attentive Food: starter of Deep Fried Camembert, scallop and springbok Carpaccio was ok. The cranberry sauce on the cheese tasted like jam from the shelves. The main of fillet and rump cooked as ordered. It was good. Only wished that the vegetable of mashed pumpkin and the other spinach in cheese ? had more variety as both meat and fish dishes came with exact vegetable.Sole fish was alright but would had been good if there were option to separate the cheese sauce. Dessert was alright quality with baklava, crème brûlée and malva pudding. Overall good experience of this establishment with the staffs taking great pride with their services. Parking: An attendance is available to help guide and manage traffic. Wheelchair accessibility: Available from the parking drop off
The Coachman has a lovely atmosphere with very friendly staff. Starters were quickly served and were really delightful. The T-bone was 5 Star the cutt was proppper in size and magnificent in taste. The side of mash and veg was amazing and compliments the prime cut perfectly. The prawns needed to be sent back and were quickly replaced with a mouthwatering 6 king prawns that was really amazing. This establishment is the perfect place to have a romantic dinner and spoil your loved one or friends for a cullenary experience out of this world.
If it's fine dining you are looking for, then this isn't it. The Coachman has been around for many many years, and still offers the same side veggies that were probably on the menu when they started. The inside dining area definitely could do with a make over. It's dated and very dark. The outside dining area has a stunning view of the bay. I had the prawn scampi for a starter. It was fried beyond recognition. The main was a waki steak, which came with monkeygland sauce. The sauce was lovely. My partner had a rump and asked for just plain garlic. The kitchen happily obliged. The best part of the meal was the nugetella cake! Definitely worth trying. All in all a decent place to have an average meal.
My sister in-law took me to the The Coachman during Festive season. It was busy as expected but service was great. We didn't wait a long time for our food. The food was good, portions are big, I had left overs from the ribs and had them for lunch the next day. Was really good. You might have a challenge getting a parking slot but then couldn't have been because it was during Festive time. I definitely recommend.
Visited for dinner. When I arrived, they were about 40min from closing, but they still accommodated me, which was very nice. My food was done to perfection and tasted great, No! The food was absolutely amazing! the lighting in the restaurant is a little off, but other than that, everything else is lovely. My waitress was attentive and very helpful with the menu. Their prices are a little expensive but when my food arrived I understood why, their portions are full and plenty and it's food done good, so I didn't mind.
This isn't Hooters—it'd be nice if the restaurant emphasized less on its all-white female wait staff and their outfits. The service was good and the food stood up on its own, so it confuses me why the proprietor runs the front-of-house like this. Some diversity would be nice too, given this is South Africa. Onto the food: escargot had a bit of a spill and coloring issue, and the ostrich was poorly plated. I did not like the saucing for the ostrich, and the medallions were more rare than medium-rare. Creme brulee custard was quantity over quality: not yolk-rich and made with a thickener.
Seafood: Kingklip/Crayfish/prawns/shrimp/squid heads/tubes/oysters/mussels/etc. It's an intriguing restaurant. You will have panoramic views {~of the ocean~, of course.} Enjoy!
Had a late lunch here. Beautiful atmosphere and equally great servers. This place is great for groups. The halloumi starters were scrumptious and the surf n turf was alright. Had a virgin mojito which was very refreshing. Overall a good experience. Recommend for groups as it got noisy around us when we were there.
LOVE everything about this restaurant. It is my family's go-to whenever we want to go out. The food is great, the portions are decent and the price is affordable. Also the waiters and waitresses are friendly. Giving out a good tip is effortless, they make it easy.Food: 5/5
Amazing food and super service in what is surely one of PE's best restaurants. Extensive menu with plenty of starters and mains to chose from. Good wine list and despite the fact that it is a really busy place, the service levels were maintained by our bright and cheery Server. Make sure you book as the place gets really busy, particularly on Load Shedding nights! Vegetarian options: Mainly fish and meat mains but also plenty of Vege options to chose from.
