On Saturday, 12th November 2022 after loadshedding ended at 06:10am, an explosion was heard 06:11am. The mini substation electrical box was on fire in our street. Call logged via the 112 line from my cellphone. Kwa- Thema C Shift was dispatched. The response time was within minutes... Under the supervision of Shift manager Kenny Sedio, and his team members extinguished the fire within seconds. They left the area once it was safe and waited for the COE electrician to come out and assess the damage. The day was saved by the brave, prompt, dedicated and committed fire men. They were our local Heroes for the day. We, the Geluksdal community salute each one of these men for exceptional service rendered on 12/11/2022. Thank You!
