The chef's menu is a culinary adventure, wow. With each course, I was taken on a journey of flavours and textures. The attention to detail in both the presentation and the execution of each dish was truly remarkable. From delicate seafood creations to succulent cuts of meat, every bite was memorable. The service is exceptional. The level of professionalism and warm welcome from the entire team is truly appreciated.
If you are looking for an amazing culinary experience, this is the place. We were visiting from California, so the prices were affordable in USD, but the lunch was expensive for locals. That said the service and the meal was fantastic. We had a set menu, but the server asked about eating preferences and the dishes were adjusted accordingly. Each dish was elegantly served by the charming team. Jokes were shared and we left with full bellies and a great experience. The lunch meal lasted about 3 hours so budge time accordingly.
This is definitely a 5 star experience!! Words can’t begin to describe how amazing it is. All the dishes are fabulous and presented in such a unique way that it really is like going to the theatre and experiencing a show. Definitely recommend for a special occasion!
Great theatre and great food with lovely local wine matching. Enthusiastic and friendly service, although some details were a bit off Semillion is NOT a Rhone varietal. Excellent vegetarian menu as well. Fun night overall. I think La Petit Colombe is just ahead, but they're both great.
I found La Colombe very underwhelming. Service left a lot to be desired. The presentations and plating were good. Overall I did not find the flavors to be impressive. We chose the longer menu with the snowcone, crab & cheese course and it was not worth it. The tuna had a nice fresh Mexican flavor to it but it certainly wasn’t mind blowing. The best thing was the first bite that came with the bread course. The dessert had way too much going on. The eclairs were meh. The main course was disappointing, the garnishes and sauces used in decoration were the best part. The cheese course was bad. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend. If you do decide to go, I’d request a table near the windows for a better experience. I’m surprised they’ve retained a spot on Worlds 100 best for so long…
Consistently an outstanding experience: from the food, to the wine selection, to the service, this is the absolute best dining experience I have ever had. The whole experience is so well curated, and the food specifically is so unique, innovative and unpretentious. Having the view of the lush, green ‘kloof’ whilst enjoying delicious food is simply unbeatable.
A unique outing that you have to try at least once in your life. The theatrics are unmatched by any other fine dining place I’ve tried. And the flavours keep up with the theatre. Absolutely delicious! All 5 senses are involved from start to finish. Staff are also warm and friendly. Overall a top tier dining experience.
Absolutely exquisite, an amazing theatre of culinary excellence that simply cannot be matched, with an outstanding and equally impressive wine pairing to match, a once in a lifetime experience!Food: 5/5
This certainly was one of thee most amazing dining experiences I have ever had. The food was simply out of this world. The attention to detail, the pairings, the timings the staff, the setting. I tried for months to get a booking at the time I was visiting and finally last minister was able to obtain one and I’m so glad I got to experience this. Could not recommend enough
Beautifully curated menu using fresh ingredients from their garden. I love the sustainability surrounding this establishment. You get a beautiful view of the mountains. Lunch took about 3 hours and we opted for reduced menu so ensure you leave plenty of time and don’t book anything afterwards so you can enjoy the entirety of the experience. Loved the creativity of the menu and the dishes were all so creative! An amazing experience to say the least.
