Lower Sabie Camp Information

I and my family enjoyed the stay in this resort. We were camping and the pitch we had was clean with water and electricity. Toilets, showers and bathtubs are clean. Near ablutions stations there are kitchen stations. The resort has a full equipped shop and a restaurant open from 7am to 11pm. Friendly and polite staff. The camp is close the river so the chance to see the animals is higher.

This rest camp has all the amenities a camper requires. Properly demarcated, level camp sites with clean ablutions and a chemical toilet drop. The restaurant serves a vast variety of delicious meals and the shop has all the necessary supplies. Well situated near Sunset Dam and for many game viewing drives. Highly recommended!

Probably the best camp for quick safaris/ drives to see the big 5. Reservation staff are friendly and most helpful. Our accommodation was sold as luxury but that was not the case, that said it was spotlessly clean and very well positioned with the Sabie river as our view .. quite spectacular. I urge you to visit and overnight there. Love the Kruger Park.

The camp is well placed. The coffee shop is great and the camp staff are really friendly and helpful. The chalets are clean but not Worth the money. They are very old, some have no showers in rooms only baths and are in need of modernism and levelling up to a international standard with they do not meet.

We had a great time at Lower Sabie, couldn’t have imagined a better base to explore Kruger. We stayed in a safari tent and were surprised by the nicely made comfy double bed, the space, fridge and even airco! We spend four wonderful days enjoying the park and at the rest camp we enjoyed the beautiful pool and the restaurant with view on hippos and water buffaloes in the river below. The food at the restaurant was fine with plenty of choice and inexpensive.

Lower Sabie. We never understood why there are never empty place, but now we understand. We were lucky. We found a good house on the perimeter. Bungalow number 16. If you get a chance take a bungalow from numbers three 3 to 22 maybe 26. It's just a perimeter bungalow with a great view of the river and the river is something where you will definitely see hippos, buffalo, elephants right next to you and here, not far from this village, we saw many animals. We saw L Kions, four times in 2 days, we saw hippos, crocodiles, we saw many, many, many other animals and everything is directly and close to this camp. And we understood, why people are so eager to come here. Recommendation 100%. if you're ever in a Kruger try to get here!

Great staff! Superb facilities! Nice curio shop! Great restaurant! Huge parking! Sabine riverview!!! Well located! Lots of great sightings around the area!!! I had nothing but great experience!!

Just had a quick stop to stretch our legs while self driving the Kruger. There is a Mug and Bean and Gift shop on the premises. There is a lovely deck overlooking the eiver, and we spotted elephants in the distance as well as hippos.

This is bucket list experience and Lower Sabie is an excellent camp to stay in. The morning sunrise, afternoon sunset, and night drives by the park are excellent. We spent 5 days in the park and the sunset drive seemed to have the most animal sightings. The park rangers do an excellent job of informing you on the animals. We saw giraffes, elephants, female lions, hippos, Nile crocodiles, kudus, buffalos, impalas, and hyenas on our tours. The camp has a restaurant that is in a fantastic location by a river. The food was extremely affordable for the quality. We bought groceries coming in to the park, but this isn’t necessary. There is a small grocery store there as well. Such a cool experience. Coming in the summer January to February had less animals from what we were told, but one of the unique experiences of visiting at this time is that all of the animals just had their offspring around November so you get to see babies with most of the animal sightings.

The room needs some serious upgrading and people are in each others faces. No privacy and bathrooms are far. Also no backup generator and the store is so many times offline and unable to process payments. Food was also not great.
