Massive department store for you to get most of shopping done. I was especially impressed with the hi tech electronics department with some state of the art television sets on sale. Prices are reasonable and standard with all competitors. Parking is widely available and secure. I did however feel awkward at the money market when a lady there as I was opening a Makro card kept asking me why I was in the country and not staying in my own country,, among other related questions. I almost felt like I'd to apologise for being a foreigner . That being said, I found other staff to be quite friendly. The guy who helped me find what I was looking for, the staff in the camping and outdoors section that struck up small talk with me while I shopped around, and the till slip checker at the door who was very friendly.
I believe my husband and I have fallen victim to a deceptive scheme at Makro. We recently purchased a highly-priced refrigerator and were promised that by paying an additional delivery fee of R650, it would be delivered on a day convenient for us to collect. However, when we contacted the client service operator, they informed us that delivery on that particular day was not possible. As a result, we have paid for a costly service that we cannot utilize, and we are feeling lost as to what steps to take next. Unfortunately, we have been unable to find anyone who can provide us with satisfactory answers, and Makro is unwilling to facilitate a refund for us.
Great for a early Sunday shopping experience
A staggeringly huge store with an enormous selection of products at significant discounts in many cases. Perfect for buying bulk. In fact, they stock many products I was not even aware existed. I moved through the aisles wide-eyed like a child, marvelling at it all. Furthermore, the cashiers are very efficient at their job and, as such, the line of customers moves swiftly through the tills, like a well-oiled machine. Shopping here is a truly wonderful experience.
It was busy, but the staff members were efficient + helpful, and the queue was moving super fast. Enjoyed my shopping. Thanks
Paid over R600 for nothing. My package was supposed to be delivered more than a week ago. According to the courier guy, the package got damaged and was sent back to Makro. When I contacted Makro and got a hold of them after 4days, they still haven’t sent out a new package to be delivered and said that management would get in touch with me… still waiting. I called again and asked if I could come and pick it up in-store, and they said no because they don’t have any stock on hand.
I went there for a promo the stuff is so good even their customers I did really enjoy
Be aware my 2 gas bottles was overfilled causing huge flames! Very dangerous!
I am from Fill-a-Bag Irene. We purchase stock from Makro monthly to make Meal Packs for families in need. We went in to pay for this stock on Thursday 18 May. Wilma Hennings who was very busy dropped everything in order to help us. Although she had never dealt with us before, she spent a great deal of time and trouble resolving our problem satisfactorily and although it took over half an hour, she did not leave us until our objective was complete there. We are very grateful to her for the time, effort and helpfulness she showed us. THANK YOU WILMA HENNINGS. We really do appreciate you. The cashier whose name I do not recall was also extremely helpful.
Service is good. Adequate stock .There is a big concern though regarding the entrance in to the road before the entry and exit gate...I find that the road is not marked adequately as we are frequently having to avoid head on collision due to drivers when exiting are always in the oncoming lane . Please could someone do something about this. I hope nothing horrible happens before some one tries to rectify the problem...it is a matter of urgency
