Mercure Hotel Randburg

Staff is very friendly and helpful. However I don't believe it is punching above what it is. I think what will make me give it is a higher rating is if the shower was cleaner and the carpet in my room. The food wasn't always the freshest ingredients and they can definitely work on it. Otherwise it just fine for business travelers. A bed is what you need anyways.

Rooms not well serviced used items not replaced, had to ask, not well cleaned saw a roach whilst eating, room service food delivery takes minimum 1.5 hours, food quality way below average rump chewy and rubbery. The 2nd star is due to the friendly and efficient reception staff and proximity to the mall across the road. Otherwise, they deserve a single star. The staff members are respectful and very kind and the servce is the best. The rooms are always kept neat and clean, I have a quiet and peaceful stay in Mecure hotel Rooms: Spacious and neat

highly disappointed! It seemed lovely at first as one entered the hotel. And we were given our keys the the first room. As we walked down the corridors we noticed quite a number of guests just hanging around the passages being noisy and a guest even smoking in the corridor. We got to our room to notice there were no towels provided and the fridge not working but full of water. The second room we were given also had towels missing and we had to ask for some. There was quite a noise coming from some of the rooms and we would have heard that probably most of the night but I’d decided to cancel. I asked for a refund for the 3 nights I was supposed to have had there but I was told that it will not be issued due to the cancellation policy. I find that the images depicted on the advertising show one thing images of the place but when you get there and check it it’s something completely different - the atmosphere is not that of a comfy safe family feel hotel stay at all: Due to this I will never book into any Mecure Hotel, this experience has left a bitter taste in my mouth.

If you're looking for a place to experience the joys of grimy, smoke-scented accommodation complete with a complimentary blocked shower drain, this hotel might be your nirvana. Unfortunately, for those who prefer to keep their lungs and drains clear, the overpriced breakfast and substandard service only add insult to injury. In short, this establishment is best avoided unless you're in the mood for a truly memorable, albeit unpleasant, experience.

Cnr Republic and Brightwater Commons Rd, Randburg Johannesburg. My husband and i had to spend two days in Johannesburg as our car was being repaired, so we stayed at the Mercure hotel. The room was comfortable with a fridge, kettle with tea, coffee and sugar. It also had wifi and what’s really convenient is that it’s right across the road from a shopping centre. Everything you need at a good price.

The service was great, check in was smooth, staff was helpful and the location was easily accessible and directly opposite a shopping center

Booked on line & flight delayed. Called once landed advising I was running late. Reception advised, first come first served. After argument and advising booking number they said it does not matter. I got there in time and got a different story. Room smelt of something strange, lights not working properly etc. Breakfast..... Well I looked at it and was put off. Sorry but the entire experience was horrible. Was just looking for a bed, shower and breakfast hassle free. Did not happen

Well located, well maintained, clean and comfortable. Rooms are cosy, if on the small size, but it has everything you require. A pleasant Hotel opposite a lovely Mall with a wide range of amenities and diversity and an overall pleasant experience. Yes there could be a little refurbishing due but overall a recommended Hotel in all as aspects. Does not pretend to be more than it is and meets expectations
