Had a great lunch with family today. We were the only patrons, just before the Sunday buffet was served. Chicken wings were fantastic. The sauce was quite literally finger licking good. Cobs salad was great. First time we had blue cheese though. Won't have it again.  Guess it's an acquired taste The rest of the salad was good. Halloumi was well prepared. Really enjoyable. Salmon and prawn with avo n peas was superb. Best of the lot for me. Also a #banting option. Service excellent. Thoroughly enjoyable experience.

23.08.2018. As part of the Food and Home meander we started off our evening here with drinks and canapes. Friendly and welcoming staff who assisted the crazy bunch of people before we headed off to various parts of the mall. The food waa fresh and well prepared. Their crumbed mushrooms and sweet potatoes were the highlights for me as it was just sooo good. I didnt want to over indulge as i still had 3 full courses of dinner to get through. Having visited 2 Mike's Kitchens previously and having not so good experiences, I decided to visit the East Gate branch for lunch. They did not disappoint!  From the time we walked in we felt so welcomed and happy. Every member of staff on the floor greeted us when we arrived and when we left. This is one of the main reasons I'd go back, because these days you don't find such welcoming, happy and friendly staff.  Our waiteress was on the ball, offering us suggestions, checking up on us, and making sure we were well taken care of.  The food was awesome! I had the chicken jalepeno nacho burger and my friend had the fish and chips. Quantity and quality food which was great value for money.  Would definitely recommend this branch for outstanding service.  We thoroughly enjoyed it.  Will definitely be back.

Sunday buffet at R200.00 per head. Limited in choice...2 meats, pork and lamb, and chicken. 2 vegies and salads and a lamb curry..that was not curry!  Desert was either cut up fruit salad or ultra mel custard. Our waiter, Sakhile was kind enough to get me a cheese cake instead of the above. The food from the buffet...all of it...was cold. Not even warm. Cold. The meat was tender but tasteless and the vegies ... no flavour. A bit overpriced in my opinion. Service however,  was excellent.

I've visited Mike's kitchen previously and I had received great service and food. Then I decided to try the one in Eastgate, I was soo disappointed. The place is beautiful, we then ordered I had the chicken schnitzel that took more than an hour to come and when it was finally served. It was very cold and the presentation on the food was bad. It looked like left over food that was stored in one container. The mushrooms and the sauce was just a mess... Very disappointed

I was a Mike's Kitchen waitress many years ago so I was extremely disappointed in the service and quality of food. I gave them a second chance and still was disappointed, as my instructions  extra basting on the meat, med well, no fat was not followed. I can see why they are so empty.

We had a choice between three other established restaurants at the Centre and when we Mike’s Kitchen we said let’s try them out as we had fond memories of the establishment.  The service is a solid 4 Star, as the staff are attentive i.e. the waiter and managers...but the food was dismal 1 Star , my wife and son shared a rack of ribs and they said they’ve had better, R 184.00 for 7 bones on the rack! My tiny R 169.00 eisbein was sent back as it was cooked in parts, one side was “rare” as the skin had the consistency of rubber and the other side was over cooked! Sent it back and the manager was understanding and went out her way to make amends and had the cook prepare another one. The only difference was the second eisbein was a larger version of the first one  We will NOT be coming back again, it’s not like the ol’ Mikes Kitchen that I remember back in the day.  Definitely not value for money I can hear the sound of crockery breaking in the background.  The waiter was tipped 10% as he made serious efforts to save the night.  I hope this reaches head office....

We decided to visit due to seeing a special trailer in Edenvale. we were informed that the special ended in October. The the DJ karaoke was too loud to have a conversation at the table. So was in unpleasant atmosphere. The food was okay but not good enough for a second visit.

Very good Fillet @200 Rand. Nice childrens playroom, supervised

Went for dinner last night, waiter was very friendly. Ordered the Camembert and mushroom rump.. menu said it was a 300g rump but what was on the plate was certainly not. Feel highly disappointed and ripped off.
