Mount Edgecombe Pharmacy - A family pharmacy providing service beyond expectation.
Just as we share our secrets with the hairdresser we’ve known for years, so over time, we learn to trust the expertise and experience of the pharmacist we build a relationship with.
This is the ethos that exists at Mt Edgecombe Pharmacy and, put into practice, is the reason that over the last five years, we has become the pharmacy of choice for residents and businesses alike. We have become a community pharmacy for everyone from Phoenix to Mt Edgecombe, and our customers trust our judgement and we value those relationships far beyond the sale of the stock on the shelves.
And it is this relationship that has resulted in Mt Edgecombe Pharmacy extending its service to the community with the introduction of a wellness clinic. Medical aids incentivise their members to pay attention to their health, and while things like extra points are a motivation, often certain procedures are too expensive to have done, and thus we hope to provide a service to bridge that gap.
An important part of this service is a corporate wellness program that is currently being used by some companies in the Umhlanga area.
Generally medical aids only offer an on-site corporate wellness service to larger companies, so we want to cater to the smaller ones.
Mt Edgecombe Pharmacy are thus encouraging local businesses to call them and set up their corporate wellness consultation for our nurse to visit their premises and take care of their staff’s wellness needs.
The corner cafe was always a community stable and while times have definitely moved on, the highly impersonal style of our fast-based lives is starting to drive us to look for places where we feel special and individual. Our pharmacy is one such place.
At Mt Edgecombe Pharmacy, we have a full-time qualified nurse who runs the wellness clinic and provides:
Family planning assistance
Immunisation and a baby service
Healthcare monitoring including weight and height/blood pressure/cholesterol/blood sugar, etc – which are accredited as part of most medical aid schemes
The administration of various injections including homeopathic alternatives
Homeopathic antibiotics or solutions that are more gentle on the body
