Description

Established in 2012, My Urban Retreat is your sanctuary in the city. Once in De Waterkant, we have now moved to beautiful Sea Point.

On the 6th floor we have such a beautiful healing space with sea and mountain views, amazing sunsets plus cleansing salty air that comes through the windows to re-set the energy each day.

We help you with all your energy healing needs using Master Reiki, Shiatsu Acupressure, Chakra & Aura Healing, Meditation & Well-being classes.

There is also yoga and pilates on-site with the Core Fit Centre for the physical aspect of healing.

Our main rooms are in Sea Point and we use other spaces for classes, workshops and retreats dotted around Cape Town and beyond.

We offer well being and self development in all areas of life using holistic approaches to bring you and your life back into balance.

Mission

I had been looking for someone like Charmaine, a highly qualified energy healer, so after reading her reviews I booked a two hour in person healing consultation. My Urban Retreat is a lovely calm, inviting sanctuary and Charmaine is intuitive and inviting, I immediately felt safe in her presence. She explained the process, what to expect and what could happen. I was looking for a general overview and advice on my energy, Charmaine tapped into my truth and gave me guidance with moving forward. As we all know healing is an inside job, we have to do the work ourselves, it can be lonely and overwhelming, I am extremely grateful that I have found Charmaine to walk by my side. I left the retreat feeling elevated and serene, grinning like a Cheshire Cat, shooting little invisible arrows of positivity and light all around, yes I am a crazy cat woman too! I was drawn to Charmane and the urban retreat after our miscarriage. Not knowing fully what to expect but knowing I needed to understand more about spirituality and my journey, my husband and I took the leap we both took a 2-hour package. when I say Charmane has changed our lives is not an over-exaggeration. What we went for we realized very quickly was not what our healing journey was all about. not only did we have 2 sessions coming away "fixed" we left both times with homework and a sense that this was a lifelong journey of spirituality and work that would better us both individually but also as a couple. Charmane puts you at ease immediately, her calm demeanour is disarming. her care and investment in not only your short-term goals but long-term needs have been eye-opening and have changed my life irrevocably. I have recommended her to many of my friends who have felt stuck, unsure of how to feel or sometimes just don't feel how to manage the everyday challenges of life. i couldn't recommend her more highly to anyone who considers themselves spiritual and in need of guidance and a journey that may or may not change their life.
Charmaine is the best reiki practitioner in Capetown, she is an incredible healer. I have been seeing Charmaine for over 2 years now and will continue to receive healing from her through distant sessions when traveling. Charmaine always gives insights from the sessions that are very helpful in ones healing journey. Charmaine has changed my life and I am forever grateful for her angelic touch.
Real. Trustworthy. Effective. Incredibly Powerful. I met Charmaine in 2017 when i was in a difficult place in my life. The moment I entered her space I felt her presence, her energy, and I knew I was in the presence of someone powerful. I had my first ever Reiki session with Charmaine in Cape Town when I was on holiday and have distant Reiki ever since - this had no impact on the quality of the healing session whatsoever! I could feel immediately when energy was coming through, and then I could also feel when she had finished and disconnected, which definitely blew my mind the first time. She helped unblock any blocked areas in each session I’ve had with her.
