Needed a quick bite and a beer. Staff was super friendly. I had the Calamari Chorizo pasta! It was awesome. Josh had a big beef burger.
This Newscafe has a great location, a nice vibe and perfect for both daytime and evening drinks and a good time. The lower score is unfortunate because of their poor service. The waiters drag their feet and are borderline rude. We tried out patience but nothing came of it. The management here needs to jerk up the service please.
Had to wait a while for food, but it was well worth it. Throughly enjoyed all the dishes. Service was good. All vegetarian meals, fantastic

I went there for breakfast this morning. Can you believe I waiting for normal breakfast almost 1 hour . And less table that time! When the breakfast come. OMG I Oder vegetarian! Why they bring bacon and steak for me? Also they charge I full amount! Not about money but service! I have to walk a way to eat new place that time! Very bad experience! Vegetarian options: Just no more
Great location but the worse in service. Waited 40 minutes for my drink, excuse was they had to get ingredients. Ordered a steak that we also waited 40 minutes for, it was undercooked and the whole order was JUST WRONG. Management nowhere in sight. WHAT A WASTE!!!
The vibe was ok for a Friday night in December, expected abit more but I guess it's too soon for that, our food took abit long considering it wasn't that busy, howeverit was good. The food is abit over priced but no complaints on the quality or taste. We ordered table nachos- a portion that was enough for two people that costs R199 but a single portion enough for 1 costed R88. Last rounds are called at 2am and the kitchen also closes at the same time compared to other places that close much earlier so that's great.
News Cafe has a great location! We went on a Sunday, which is possibly one of the quieter nights. I ordered a Cuppachino and my cousin some cold Chai. Sadly my Cuppachino was cold. As I was thirsty, I drank it and told our waitress, who admitted that it was cold and did not replace it. I had a burger that was not bad with onion rings as an extra, that were warm at best. My cousin had a pasta dish and seemed to enjoy it, but was not very hungry and asked for a doggy bag. Not sure I will rush back there in a hurry.
