Unfortunately not a great experience. We were in a big group and did not book... So agreed I should expect to wait for food. But service was super slow... Waitress did her best but 15 need 2 waitresses, music was so loud we had to shout at each other. It was about 1pm in the afternoon. Food was mediocre at best. Sorry but it was just not great.
Needed a quick bite and a beer. Staff was super friendly. I had the Calamari Chorizo pasta! It was awesome. Josh had a big beef burger.
Excellent food staff need a bit more training but a good 8.5 out of 10 cz of that.Food: 5/5
This Newscafe has a great location, a nice vibe and perfect for both daytime and evening drinks and a good time. The lower score is unfortunate because of their poor service. The waiters drag their feet and are borderline rude. We tried out patience but nothing came of it. The management here needs to jerk up the service please.
Firstly , we had to call a waiter after 20 minutes of waiting to be attended. Kwanele the waiter we called , had an attitude. She came 5 minutes later after we called her, no greeting just placed the menus on the table and left. She then forced us to pay for our bill and we did but told her that we would like to continue ordering . We paid and she get threw our slip and left. We sat waiting to be attended and she never came back. We didn’t have a choice but to leave.

Had to wait a while for food, but it was well worth it. Throughly enjoyed all the dishes. Service was good. All vegetarian meals, fantastic
Very poor service. Yesterday we had a waitress demand a higher tip. After having not even cleaned out table once or asked us if we needed anything. Definitely would not recommend.
Service so so poor, firstly I arrived alone and was taken to sit down, I set there for 10 mins without a menu and without a waiter, I had to shout for assistance then the menu was brought and that was it. I waited for someone to come and take my order but no one came through. Only as I was leaving someone says she was coming to assist me, after I have sat there for over 20 mins can you imagine, to be holiday and trying to unwind only to be treated like a second class.. very disappointing and disgusting the fact that the so called manager seemed unbothered and lost
News Cafe has a great location! We went on a Sunday, which is possibly one of the quieter nights. I ordered a Cuppachino and my cousin some cold Chai. Sadly my Cuppachino was cold. As I was thirsty, I drank it and told our waitress, who admitted that it was cold and did not replace it. I had a burger that was not bad with onion rings as an extra, that were warm at best. My cousin had a pasta dish and seemed to enjoy it, but was not very hungry and asked for a doggy bag. Not sure I will rush back there in a hurry.
