Ocean Basket Sunninghill, Chilli Lane

This OB was a pleasant OB to visit. We had some sushi for starters and prawns as mains. A glass of wine or two to go with it. The interior is warmly decorated. I was impressed with how clean the restaurant was. We were served within a reasonable amount of time however this was a particularly quiet night. The prawns were slightly over done for me. I would recommend visiting this OB.

So this is the one restaurant at Chili Lane, besides Doppio, that has stood the test of time. Granted some of the experiences I had here years ago were on the upper end of average. But I went here recently and was blown away by the sheer quality of the food and the great experience I had. Great service, perfectly cooked hake and calamari combo - delicious and fed the soul. I'll definitely return and I highly recommend it!

The simple fish and chips is still my favourite... the little rolls are unbelievable. and Anna our waitress gave us the best service. Thank you Anna and the chefs for a fantastic meal out

The service was great. I was greeted, served and got out of there in minutes. Got the papa's prawns and specially requested a dairy free option - they obliged me. The only hack was that some of the prawns were slightly undercooked and the rolls were *stale*. I'd recommend sticking with chips or rice cause the rolls really let the meal down. Otherwise, 'twas a decent meal, albeit a wee overpriced. Fish and prawns combo may be a better for a slightly lower price. It was open during loadshedding.

I went here for lunch recently with a friend and wasn't too happy with the service but the meal was alright. We were clearly being treated differently to the table behind us. Neither of us ordered additional drinks but the other table received bread and butter yet my friend had to ask for it. Can't say the waiter was friendly either. The new menu is nice, we had a bunch of tapas and spicy salmon roses that were presented weirdly with stuff over the roses that I'm not used to. We had to wait a while for the bill. They could do better. No reason to treat customers this way.

A well managed branch, staff are friendly and professional. When they run out of bread, they offered me coffee as compensation, but instead I asked for fried vegetables, they made a plan to make it happen. It’s one of my favorite places to go. I was really disappointed with my meal. I ordered the fish with calamari and salad. The salad is always super fresh and delicious. The fish was horrible and bland and the calamari was okay. I sent back my fish and calamari and my new meal was just as horrible. The manager offered me a different meal. I opted for the prawns. I was shocked with the service as usually everything at this branch is fantastic

SHOCKING!! BURNT FOOD WAS THE ORDER OF THE DAY, PREVIOUSLY USED OIL, OVER FRIED HAKE, REUSED LEMON , TASTES HORRIBLE, DONT GO THERE , THEY HAVE NO STANDARDS, STILL WAITING FOR A REESPONSE FROM THE DIRECT EMAIL SENT .....SHAMELESS

Was disappointed in our meal, actual meal looked nothing like the advertised picture. Mussels and prawns were overcooked and tasteless. DRY. Won't recommend this restaurant.

The setting is very nice, and the space is adequate. The food is prepared well, but the service is terrible. Even when the restaurant is marginally full the waiting times are excessive.
