Great fun for a Saturday morning. Starting at the large circle pavements by the Shark Rock Pier just outside the Pro Dive surf building. You head east along the path just above the beach, until you reach Something Good Restaurant, then you head onto the beach for about 1km then back up to the path, and back to the start point. Grab a finishing token closer to the KFC section and get scanned out. Lovely morning activity. But a bit crowded for me. As it was a school holiday weekend with over 300 people attending.
Best Park Run Ever! No wind, beautiful day, flat run, a little beach stretch and Seattle Coffee is across the road. Loved it!!
What is good fast run this morning, parkrun was well organized, with run Marshalls all along the route, run is very flat, good run for the fast flat runners out there, the route on the beach was a little difficult, but once I git onto the pavement again it was all guns blazing
An awesome run with 2 Different routes depending on the tide, safe and friendly volunteers
What a pleasant experience. Lovely route, great scenery and well organized. This is a large parkrun, over 800 participants in December. Well worth it. Parking might become a problem, so arrive early to ensure parking.
DON'T RUN BAREFOOT. SHOES ARE ESSENTIAL FOR THIS PARKRUN. The run spans multiple surfaces from concrete to the beach and unfortunately goes over broken bottles, blue bottles and pebble hills. Despite that, this run is sublime! The views, the air, the crowd and the organizers are all just amazing and I wish I could start every Saturday this way.
This is a interesting parkrun because of the short section on the beach which could be affected by the tide. When I did it is was low tide and had very rocky sections. It seems there are alternate routes for those that have prams. It is fantastic to be so close to the beach for a post-run cooldown swim. I loved it.
Amazing looking forward to doing it weekly
Free! Well organized. Well supported. An impressive following. Great vibe and energy! Accommodating to people of all shapes, sizes and fitness levels. I enjoy it every time. Did I mention it's free? Because it's free! And you get Vitality points if you are on Discovery Vitality.
This is my home based parkrun. It has two routes, the A route which goes out past Pipe, round the Lollipop and back then the B route which is tougher because its mostly on sand to the harbour wall and back. Its a nice parkrun. It can get a bit too crowded in summer but on a whole its a great event with nice scenery. I sometimes run it, sometimes walk it. When you finish there are plenty of nearby places where you can have breakfast or just a coffee. Its PEs best supported parkrun and if you are lucky you will get to see our famous dolphins just off the beach near Pipe during your run/walk.
