Overall good experience 90% of the food was good. Only gripe is the fish that was very hard. Other than that great food and presentation would recommend.

Good food, great staff, what a awesome experience, but what really blew my mind was the great special that they had on their Eisbein! But overall, i definitely recommend this place!

Very disappointing experience. I went here on New Year’s Eve with some friends. The service was quite slow, while I understand this is a very busy evening the restaurant was nowhere near capacity. Big speakers playing loud music made it very difficult to even speak to someone next to you, not appropriate for the atmosphere of this restaurant and extremely annoying. The milkshake I had tasted watered down, the chicken pasta was very bland and not worth the price at all R160. My friend ordered Humus with his meal which didn’t arrive and he had to cancel it. Overall I felt the money I spent here was wasted, there are much better places to go at better price ranges as well.

We were ravenous after a movie and decided to try Platia taverna rather than some of the usual chain restaurants, and I'm so glad we did! We were served a complimentary hot bun with butter on a plate with crumbed feta, jalapeno pepper and cherry tomatoes. Nice appetizer indeed! The grilled Calamari was superb, and while I initially thought the Chicken pasta was a bit overpriced, when they set down the enormous pasta bowl with a delectable creamy sauce covering the tagliatelle garnished with coriander, peppadews if I recall correctly and chicken I was blown away! Definitely top notch in my humble opinion. The waiter was very friendly and offered super service to our table, even taking a few group photos for us! Oh and the ambiance inside Emperors palace greatly complimented the experience !

We had our end of year function there last night. The food & atmosphere was fantastic. The belly dancers were great. Thank you to all staff who went above and beyond to make our event a great success.

It was my husbands birthday yesterday. We had not booked. The manager came to check up on us. Told her it was my husbands birthday. 2 minutes later she came back with rose petals for our table, made Ice cream for him. The friendly stuff made it extra special. We had a beautiful evening. We will definitely be back soon

The floor manager is very friendly and knows how to deal with customers. The food is excellent and worth it. Calamari and chicken livers is a must try for starters.

Lovely spot who made tasty meals. 1 meals portion size was a little small but otherwise a really great experience.
