Gets my 5 stars because it is what it says it is. Very clean, very basic, cheap and cheerful. The coffee is free. Want frills? Go elsewhere. Need a bed, they have above average quality beds for a backpackers. Otherwise sparsely furnished.

Adequate for my working traveller needs. We were few booked in thus no problems using kitchen and bathrooms. Way there cumbersome, near fatal accident rerouting. First trip at night on a wet night. My car was securely parked. No surprise inconsistencies between online and actual. Opsy! no pictures will try to remember next time cause I'm coming back

This is value for money. Good place to stay for Comrades down run. People are really friendly and helpful in any matter. It is an older place and vrry cheap, but if all you need is a good bed and hot shower, then this is a good backpackers.

I was amazed by da staff's hospitality. I got there just after sunset &the staff accompanied me 2the Mall. The Lodge's very clean & tidy. I will definitely refer my friends & colleagues to it. Keep-up da professionalism ladies

Booked a place for 1-3 february 2019 i paid with my card when the lady told me the machine was offline but it deducted more than one transaction nosipho came and i showed her the smses i received from the bank she suggested that i get a refund.she even took a screenshot of the smses when i call on tuesday as i had to leave m from johannesburg she refused knowing anything about the transactions the bank helped me.i feel they took a chance knowing i wont come back that is bad service ive been in different countries never was i treated like this

The Backpacker is a good place to save money, they got good wifi as well and are located in a walking distance to the mall The Mall @ Scottsville. However, I'm worried that the doors do not have keys, also the dorms don't have lockers where you can put your stuff and lock.

A home away from home. Stay was comfortable & owner was very professional & the welcoming process was reassuring, would visit again!
