Our waitress Noma was amazing. The food was deliscious! The view was very relaxing. All round good venue. The lower half of restaurant is more vibey with live music and the menu is more affordable. The top floor has the viewes and more refined menus. Vegetarian options: There is more or less 6 different types of vegetarian options. Ask for the flexitarian menu. Even Ribs no meat vegan option and the vegan menu is affordable. Dietary restrictions: You can state what your dietary restrictions are and they can accommodate. Some members on our table requested bacon to be taken left out with their meals and they complied.
Great atmosphere right on the water's edge. Friendly quick service without being in your face. The food was well prepared and very tasty. Price is very affordable compared to other places in the area.Food: 5/5
Unfortunately I was seriously disappointed with the seafood platter for one. The fish was either frozen, or criminally over cooked until it had the consistency of hard rubber. We chose upstairs for the ‘better’ kitchen, but might as well have eaten downstairs or somewhere else. The prawns were also a bit lacking in the tiny amount of meat. Service staff made no apology or attempt to fix the problem.
A little more than 3 weeks ago I made a review about our bad experience at Quay Four. The manager Natasha invited us back and after really being hesitant, she shared that the top and bottom restaurant have seperate kitchens, and I also learned different menu's too. So we decided to give it a try. What a complete 360 from our previous experience at the bottom restuarant. The manager I hope I have the name correct Jean - Claude, checked up on our table 3 times, and also did so by the tables around us too. Our waitress Noma was such a sweetheart, she has such a heartwarming personality and also checked in if we were happy with our meals. Friendly and lovely staff. I said I'd post an honest review after being back, and I thought I would share it for all the other people that also commented about their previous bad experiences. We started with the cajun calamari, it was truly delicous, cooked perfectly and the flavour was amazing. Not a big portion at R125 but if you are craving a small bite - it'll definitely hit the spot! We also got served delicious bread, that was warm and the butter was the perfect consistency to spread easily- not like some places that leave the butter in the refrigerator and is so hard you can barely spread it. Thereafter we shared the prawn tempura roll. Wow! Super crunchy and tasty! Could not fault it. It truly tasted fresh and wonderful! Mains - I had the Prawn Curry - it had the perfect amount of spice, served at the perfect temperature and packed with flavour. Hubby had the Q4 Platter for one - there is a reason it's R895. It's SO much food. Hubby could not finish it at all. The mussles were cooked perfectly, the sauce truly so delicious! The fish was a beautiful cut, thick, juicy and delicious. There was leftovers and my daughter of almost two loved it too! The prawns - oh my - they were MASSIVE!! Cooked so well and easily came out of the shell. Calamari just as perfect as with the starters. There was a little bit of veg below the seafood, which I felt wasn't even necessary on such a massive platter. The least underwhelming was the chips, it wasn't too great - but my daughter ate it afterwards with no pause. I tried two mocktails as I do not consume alcohol. This was an awesome option on the menu for those who don't consume alcohol, to try and truly enjoyed the difference between the different flavoures. I loved both of them. So all and all, we'll be back to visit the top restaurant. We truly enjoyed our meals and left with big happy smiles.
we kushaep on the second floor. there are the best mussels in Cape Town ... not only in Cape Town, nowhere have I eaten such delicious mussels as here. The sauce is very tasty I advise everyone. nice staff and in the summer it is very nice to sit on the veranda. one minus is that there are no blankets. I would love to sit outside at a later time, but they don't have any blankets.
Good restaurant with delicious seafood and friendly staff. Prices are a bit higher than they should be for the type of restaurant. Cleanliness is also not up to scratch but the view and atmosphere make the experience great.
Good location, nice ambience and music. Unfortunately the food doesn’t match. The bayside platter is their promoted dish, however it’s not the best. Fish was dry and hard. Waited an hour for the food, even though the place was not as busy. This was a Thursday night.
We dined upstairs and had excellent service from the manager on duty and server for our group. Limited, but very good choice of wine and even the set menus were pretty good for the price.Food: 5/5
An extremely busy restaurant. We had to wait in the queue to be seated...was worth the effort....waiters were honest...meals will take about an hour to be prepared and served to us...the reason being that they were very busy...however, within forty five minutes our meals were served....throughly enjoyed the chicken burger...the prawns.. was also delicious ...the atmosphere was electric...live band entertainment...wow...also enjoyed a boat ride at the V and A water front... R250 per person for one hour...
Had a lovely time at Quay Four. I went there to celebrate my birthday recently with friends and family. Although the live band made it a bit hard for our waiter to hear us, it had a great vibe. We absolutely loved the food. Definitely recommend!Food: 5/5
